Your favorite road trip car ?

@Dart Frog What year is yours. I have a '92. She's my third B350. 360, the only time I call it a 5.9 is at NAPA, 4 speed TF and 3.91 gears. I've had it for 100,000 miles or so and over 10 years. I live in southern New Jersey and for 6 years drove 300 mile round trip every month to a client in Virginia beach. She always got me there and back, sometimes barely! Fun to drive especially on the highways and the Stop Light Gran Prix. Best part is at WOT it sounds like a quad! And yes I am that guy in the left lane! She's great fun on Delaware Route 1 at rush hour and the Sunday night run up the Jersey 'Pike! She effortlessly pulls the trailer with the Max on it. 75 MPH all the way home from Carlisle.

During the Seventies and early Eighties my 2 favorite rides were my '65 Imperial Crown Coupe and my '58 Mercedes 220S sedan. Both were comfort at high speed!

Definetly the Barracuda, powerbrakes, ps, auto, 3.23 rear, flowmaster 50, fine for 200 mls+ allday long
Racetrack Hockenheim Germany, south Switzerland, Gotthard pass switzerland elev. 6000ft, lake Como Italy (where George Clooney live)

This looks like Hwy 97 just north of Weed, CA to me. Beautiful area.

My favorite road trip car was my 1990 Daytona base model. 2.5L 5-speed. The seats were so comfortable. Wasn't fast and didn't get amazing fuel economy, but very comfy.
Second to that was my dad's 1992 Dodge 2wd 3/4 Cummins with captains chairs. Nice truck that just hummed down the highway.

I've had 3 Ford Expeditions, 2002, 2003, and 2007 model years, all Eddie Bauer trim levels, by far the most comfortable road trip vehicles I've ever owned. While they weren't the most economical, I could drive 12+ hours and not even feel tired. The 2007 had a cold air kit and headers installed by the previous owner, and the 6 speed automatic transmission made it capable of about 19 mpg cruising at about 70 mph.

Something with good seats. My back hurts.
I have broad shoulders and am barrel chested, most bucket seats curve and push my shoulders forward so they get painful after about 50 miles. Bench seats are actually pretty comfortable to me.

I put Toyota celica cloth seats in my Barracuda. No A/C driving across country LA to Iowa.

To me road trips are different than just long distance driving. For a road trip I’ll take my 63 falcon, turbo Honda j35 v6 and a 6 speed manual. Awesome road trip car.

Yes! Exactly. A road trip to me is more than just going a long way. It could mean going a long way, but it's not just driving a long distance. Well said.

It very well could be, we took 97 on that trip in both directions. I obviously wasn't the one taking the picture! It's definitely near Weed, regardless of which stretch of road.

BMW 750Li is in my opinion the finest car for a road trip. Big and heavy, fast with lots of power. Extremely roomy, huge backseat that's super easy to get in and out of.

Plus a trunk that you can haul most anything in.
