Stop in for a cup of coffee

Morning everyone,12 on the ground and still snowing and 5 deg out. Looks like a good haul Hoppy. Zman you getting any of this snow?
No snow, looks like we might miss this one.

Snow day!! They closed everything down today because we broke a 102 year old snow record.

Would be a good day to work on the fury..... oh wait, it's buried in snow :(

Got wheels swapped on parts van, pulled winter tires off rims, started the spare car. Now two more sets of tires to pull off and two sets to install.
Im giving in. Daughter needs a car,so we are lending her the pt to wreck...

Time for me to get busy. I have a ton of leaves that need to be handled. They will kill the grass if they get snowed on for the winter and are a sloppy mess to clean up in the spring. I will be mowing through the snow. I still have a bu=it in the shadows on the north side of the house. :BangHead::BangHead::bs_flag:

Tim, I heard, good morning by the way, that homeless people in the San Diego area had caused a fire during food making. It was mopped fairly fast but who need that kind of fires. And in Rohnert Park just south of Santa Rosa, I think it was Monday morning or something like that they fired up 6 fireworks and set a grass field on fire. Who does that kind of crap, are they sick in their tiny little heads ?

Happens all the time around here....Camp fires in homeless camps.

Here's something you don't see too often.... Fall leaf colors with snow... Usually by the time snow falls, the leaves are all brown and fallen....

Sad.

I see they are using Ericksson Skycrane up here in the fire fighting. In my opinion the only helicopter that should be called a fire fighting helicopter, those others one are only toys.

For me anyway, there are only two helicopter brands in the world, Bell and Sikorsky. Am I too opinionated ? :D

This is the jack I bought for my 1965 Dodge Dart.

Strongway 2-Ton Hydraulic High Lift Double Ram Bottle Jack | Northern Tool + Equipment

But, I did not pay this much for it. They have it on sale now for $42.99, but they had it for sale in the summer for I think it was like 20 dollars less than this again. It is a very nice jack because it gets until the lower control arm and under the rear axle. An excellent tool.

I have no idea about the long term quality of this, I don't know this brand. Maybe some of you guys have some words to say about this brand.

Well, that was interesting. swapped winter tires on pt cruiser,go for a road test, not shifting?? 2nd gear. Eprom fault in trans controller. Doh!
Go yank one off wrecked car and bolt it in (behind front bumper) and all is well again. 2001 and 2002 use the same module, same part number. Lucky me.

I have wonderful news. The evacuation orders or warnings have been lifted for quite a few areas. They warn people when going back to drive carefully in case trees have fallen down and lays over the road. But at least people will be allowed back to look after their properties. Many of these places have not gotten any power or gas, but I think I saw that 13000 had gotten the power back. And more will get it back a little by little here and there as they get the power lines checked out. And life can start getting back to normal. :D I can't believe they opened for so many areas at the same time, this is going to be the traffic jam of the year.

We are talking about more than 100,000 people that want to go home at once.

Looks decent. I guess it works till it doesn’t. Lol. I got a Harbor Freight floor jack that drops nice and low. Pretty happy with that. Bottle jacks are nice ifbyou have to get in small space.

The reason I bought this one was for two things. It was low enough to get under everything under the car. The other thing is that the valve has a hole drilled through and a pin stuck through the whole. I hate those that have only a flat and then the tube is squeezed flat and after a while the tube get round again and it slips over. I like it with the old style little pin in there and a slot in the tube. I am majorly old fashioned, But I am sure you have already figured that out. :D

I know from the different stuff I have purchased that northern tool has always seemed a bit better quality over harbor freight. The exception would be the (pro) stuff at harbor freight.
