Thread it the next smaller size maybe metric, maybe American, what ever it takes.

Run a die over it, the next size down, metric or inch. Or replace it but I have never had one apart.

what is it too?

maybe you can get one of those starter stud blockies on there , and use the OEM nut, since it doesnt need to be as tight

The only way to "run a die down it" would be to take it apart. Once you've gone that far, might as well replace it. I think soldering a pigtail onto it might be the best option. But you do have a few good threads at the top (looks like). Maybe just put some washers on it?

I have to agree with open it up and replace that stud, as solder may not stick to it anyway.
Besides heating the stud may very well melt the plastic it's mounted in.
You'll never get a die on it installed anyway, and even if you did you risk twisting it in the housing and causing a short inside.

You might get to it easily under that rear cover.

This will give you an idea of what's inside that cover and what to do with it.

Another option would be (IF you can find one) a push on wire end similar to what used to be on Ferd starter solenoids. They used the same/ similar studs, with a 90 degree connector

Geez, 9 bucks??? Maybe not

ford starter solenoid connector - Google Search

good idea ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
if u try to cut new threads and turn it , it will have to come apart anyway.

I bet you could fit a die with a socket to turn it instead of a tap/die handle.

maybe even a wrench

Listen to Trailbeast. If you twist that stuff trying to tap it, it WILL spin it the housing, twisting off/breaking the wire that's soldered to it inside.
