    Timing curves

If you bend the tab out on the spring = be sure it does not hit or run on anything especially the screws that hold to clips that retain the cap. If need be, you can grind or replace them with shorter ones. This is a trick that i have been using since early 1960s.

That sound a bit high to me. Are they resistor wires that you bent a lot while crimping the ends on?

Well, I finally got a chance to open the May National Dragster from last Month. There was a nice picture of me and the Wagon (5/2024 pg. 128). I was able to get by the current World Champ (he was .003 red) and a current Div. champ/Former World Champ (I was .01 to his .03 and .008 stripe) and...

I’ll bet a lot of wheels are turning since the John Force wreck

Richard Petty was not racing in NASCAR due to rule changes that made it impossible to compete with a Chrysler product that year back in the 60's. He built a Mid 60's Hemi Cuda exhibition drag car (43 JR.) to keep his hand in racing. He lost control of it and it crashed through the flimsy guard...

I’ll bet a lot of wheels are turning since the John Force wreck

I understand your concern for spectator safety and the repercussions for deaths. It was 10 years ago or a bit more while my son and I were watching Top Fuel between rounds of Stock/SS on top end. A rear wheel came off Anton Browns Dragster and flew into the spectators around to fence...

I’ll bet a lot of wheels are turning since the John Force wreck

Well the news is not real good on John He sustained a serious head injury and has been transferred to Neuro ICU. They say it will be a long Road back for John. I have been praying for him, and if you are people of faith I hope you will join me in praying for his recovery. He used to hang with...

    SS/K 1965 Valiant

Matt's car is really running well! My close friend Gregg Luneauk did extensive R and D on the newer (302 maybe) heads and prepared a pair for a SS/K 273 before he passed away. I wonder if those heads were for Matt's car.

Class Racer does not post everyone's ETs/MPH. I am on there at least every day. I do subscribe to Nitro Joe's book that is published at the end of the year and features everyone best only run of the year in Stock and Superstock and where it occurred. You can also call Pat at NHRA and get the...

    Electrical problems 73 duster

There are two positions on your key switch: Start 1 = Normal running Start 2 = Engages the starter and bypasses the ballast resistor. You perhaps damage the key Switch or somehow lost power somewhere in the column (pinched wire in loom) Possibly but less likely is that you somehow damaged the...

    SSR-756RS elgin ss rockers

Well, they are sure as Hell cheap enough. As John Arbuckle (Coffee Merchant) used to say: You get what you pay for! As my chassis builder Walter Ritchey (RIP) said to me: If you want good Oats you have to pay a good price. Now if you don't mind Oats that have already been through the...

    SS/K 1965 Valiant

That makes more sense = 131.76 in the 11's did not to me particularly for a Superstocker. Thanks for clarifying that, now that makes perfect sense to me! The stick Superstock cars often run a bit more MPH for their ET. Even with the state of the arts clutch technology (Slider set up) many if...

MR. PERFACAR: Send me a link to the Video of that 131.76 pass please AND I will buy you the best Dinner in your town!! I know what class Matt runs = I am fairly familiar with most of the Mopar Superstocks that currently are active racing NHRA today. I have raced Superstock for over 60 years.

    SS/K 1965 Valiant

You are my Buddy don't get me wrong = BUT Apples to Oranges comparison! Your car is not a 273 engine with stock compression/Tiny carb/Production Iron Heads with stock CCs My STOCK Z06 runs 130MPH plus also but that is not an equal comparison either as it IS 650HP. If you could get 400HP out...

Don't read if you're close minded

A 4150 Holley 1050 DID NOT flow nearly as well as a 1050 Dominator on my friend's Wet flow Carb Bench. I have no explaination on how Holley could rate them the same except if the have different standard that they go by?

    SS/K 1965 Valiant

I love the car but I can not believe 131.76! I believe we have the quickest and fastest SS/KA Mopar ever racing in NHRA and we do have a bunch of class Wallys that would indicate that statement. It runs high 9's and low 10's when we are required depending on the track and it runs 129 MPH...
