WHAT TO DO Manifold/Header exhaust options

For me it will be a weekend cruiser. One of these days I might put it on the track just re-live the days when I did race, but just driving around looking and sounding good is what I'm thinking. Also was not sure if the Eldebrock heads would change the position of the manifolds.

WHAT TO DO Manifold/Header exhaust options

Everyone, my 67 Dart has a 360 that is supposed to be north of 400 HP, with Edelbrock # 60779 Performer RPM heads, no Dyno data on it. It currently has Hooker 1 3/4" Super Comp series headers for SB Mopar into A-Body cars. I don’t like the way it fits, hangs down too low, rubs the steering...

    [SOLD] 68-70 Hi-po small block 340 exhaust manifolds 2863553 2863549

In the above photo, the exhaust flange directly above the faulty area in the manifold on the inside bolt appears in the photo to have a crack, might just be the angle.

    Green Wheel bearing help

Well I finally did the unthinkable. I called a friend to come help, (kind of like asking for directions). He came over sit down in front of the passenger wheel grabbed the brake drum, whispered something to the car, wiggleed it a couple of times and it slid right off. Well not to be out-done, I...

2 Radios plugged into 1 Speaker?

I agree with 67Dart. Just because you can or because it might work why not just do it right. Also absolutely no to the diode thing. In it's simplest form the diode rectifies AC to DC, every look at a power suply, AC out of the transformer through the diode and you end up with DC. Audio is AC so...

    Green Wheel bearing help

Bill G and others, Getting the Drum off is my current issue to see what I have. What should be the slot to allow for loosing the adjuster has a steel plug/plate on the inside. I am afraid to use a BFH and chisel to try and knock it out and hitting it firmly did not do it. No I am not hitting the...

2 Radios plugged into 1 Speaker?

So far every answer is right. Yes you can, No, with switches and relays. The technicial answer would be no, not without knowing a lot of other things about the electronic circuits in both radios. If it just something you have to do then the simplest way is to use a double pole double throw...

    Green Wheel bearing help

Well I thought I would go just pop off the drums and take a look. That has turned out to be much easier said than done. The drums, both sides are free enough to wiggle around and slide in and out 1/8 inch or so but neither will come off. I have hit around on the edge of the face with a mallet...

Idea needed for front of Dart

No matter how bad you feel in the short term with your knee, rest assured it will get better with time. Best advice I got (had them both replace at the same time 5 years ago) was to treat your physical therapy like a job. Welcome back on the form.

    Anyone use these

I should have read the ebay add a little better, it includes the rotors being drilled and slotted. Thanks for the reminder on the green bearing, as I will have to pull the axles if it does not already have green bearings I will have new ones installed.

    Poll: Synthetic/Conventional/Blend

Rotella in my 2500 HD Diesel change every 3K, not sure what I'll run in the 360, It has some kind of break-in oil in it now not sure what. Have a friend that swears by Royal Purple but then he swears by every new thing that comes along. He ran Amsoil for years in his motor-home with a dual...

Thanks a bunch. I will pull the drum off tomorrow and then I will know. Does anyone know why most of the disk conversions say must use green bearing.

    Green Wheel bearing help

Thanks for the info, now I just need to go see if I can find a adjuster nut on the passenger side. Is this something I can see with the brake drum still on or do I need to remove it.

    Green Wheel bearing help

I'm sure I must be the only person on the form that doesn't know what a green rear wheel bearing is or how to tell if you do or don't have one. My rear end is a 8 3/4 with Dutchman axles. I am thinking about doing a rear disk swap and some kits say it must have green wheel bearings. Bobby

Cheapest way to get an inch or 2...

I have to admit I have not read the entire thread but I don't recall you saying how you planned on using the car, street or strip. If you are looking for a performance boost and no it's not the cheapest, but hey you've been looking for 6 months you might try Calvert Mono-Split from...

poll did all Dart swingers come with rally dash

I ordered a new 1969 Swinger 340, 4 speed (Hurst Mystery Shifter), tires upgraded to G70X14's (the largest they would put on at the factory), 355 posi-trac's and it did not have the Rallye Dash. So no.

    Trunk spring removal help please

I have found a 67 Dart at a junk yard. I can go cut the rear wheel wells out to replace the ones in my Dart. My car had the trunk springs already out from the previous owner along with one of the spring bracket being removed on the passenger side, so I have no clue how to remove the...

Header headache may go to manifolds

I have a 360 LA in my 67 Dart with Headman super comps. I don't like the way they fit/hang down underneath. Been thinking about going to regular exhaust manifolds. The engine is north of 400 HP so it does need to be able to breathe. Does anyone know anything about these manifold numbers...

The Good!! The Bad!! And The Ugly!!!!!

Well things have been quite for the last couple of weeks but then that was by design. The absolute first thing on my agenda was to get the vehicle inspection done. Not sure about other states but in Texas when a car comes in from out of state not only does it have to have a state safety...

Hemicop, I'm sure not adverted to adding frame connectors, just not sure what they are and how to do it, but I'm sure I can find lots of advice here. Also here is all I know about Dutchman axles. http://www.dutchmanaxles.com/ . Cracked back, if you don't mind take a look and let me know what...

    1/4 mile ET guesses

If you are really going to the stroke monster, you might concider going ahead and taking the plunge for some new heads. Stock 318's are not known for their berathing ability and these could be swaped over to the new motor. Just my 2 cents.

    fixing am radio?

The best advice so far is about the electrolytic capacitors. If I was going to start working on this I would be tempted to change every electrolytic capacitor in the unit. Unlike ceramic capacitors electrolytic's dry out with age. At that point the most common failure is they will short out, you...
