66 Dodge Dart upgrade Dual conversion help!

Heres what I did on mine and its served me very well. 74 charger manual brake dual pot master, works with the factory pushrod as well, no need for the adjustable unit. 87 plymouth gran fury proportioning valve, and matched brakes from that same car. I did all brand new lines because mine were...

    TF904 kickdown band anchor failure

its a "semi rigid" band....i think? its a twin to the raybestos pro-series band. I tried rolling it out last night just to satisfy my curiosity, and its definitely a no go.....rrrrr!!!

    TF904 kickdown band anchor failure

For sure! i know what you are talking about with the band having spring tension. Naturally my biggest concern is having this problem again down the road and if theres a way to prevent it. This is frustrating as hell but I spose you gotta pay to play....

    TF904 kickdown band anchor failure

Got a fun one here, cope racing TF904-4 "pro street reverse manual shift" that nuked 2nd gear on the 7th shift....literally. Was on its maiden voyage and lost it, so I dropped the valve body that same night and saw this. The anchor point honestly looks cheesy as hell, has anyone else ever seen...

90 degree oil filter adapter filter

NAPA 1215 is the same micron rating as a comparable 1515, 1068, or 1085. Biggest difference is the filter material. those numbers are longest to shortest. 21 micron on all 3, and a kickass beta ratio of 2/20 = 6/20. To break it down heres how it works. According to the beta ratio chart, the...

    Doug's or TTI headers

I didnt feel the need to. Between the ceramic coating, internal thermal barrier, and the distance between the master and the header I dont believe its going to be an issue. I also run DOT 4 for ***** n giggles.

    Doug's or TTI headers

I did TTI-636A's in my 66 dart, 408, eddy heads. My reasoning was A. I like one piece headers and have a borderline psychotic hatred for 2 bolt flanges and slip joints. B. The dougs couldnt handle the power im making AS WELL as the TTI's....so my decision was easy. Required items to...

    66 Dart engine swap

The factory 273 port exhaust manifolds will choke that 360 down hard. I used a 73-76 A-body 360 manifold set in mine with a u-joint steering column coupler to clear. win-win - clearance and no more hot garbage pot-coupler. Motor mounts - I went with schumacher conversion mounts and poly-loc...

    Crank pilot bushing part#/size needed?

Napa offered them once upon a time through their balkamp line. I looked for that exact creature but came up empty handed, except a few ebay listings that they wanted entirely too friggin much for em.

Adding an aftermarket Hood Scoop help needed

mine sits 1 5/16 off of center in my 66. schumacher mounts and poly-loc insulators sitting on a stock K-member. Im master-debating what induction device ill be running on mine here soon. Id chop the scoop to blend with the hood. If you mess up, whoops, get a new one. 66 dart hoods arent what id...

    Crank pilot bushing part#/size needed?

magnum engines used a bushing that pressed into the torque converter register flange in the crank for factory manual setups, and a roller bearing pressed inside of that. P4876056 is the mopar number. now with your A833 Id highly recommend having a machinist make an oilite bronze bushing to...

Who knows Detroits? 4-53, 6V-53, etc?

Ive got to play with a few. Silver 92 was my favorite. (8v) However, this 60s era military 12V53TT test pig really gets my jimmies going. (pun intended)

    Swivel Thermostat Housing

Thats exactly what I used on my airgap equipped 408. works well, however I used anaerobic gasket sealer where the snout screws into the center section. O.E. it uses an o-ring, but the shoulder that the o-ring seats on isnt tapered nor is it wide enough in my opinion, it ends up cutting the...

How do you guys keep gas from spilling? 66' Dart

......OH MY LANTA!!!! now it all makes sense why there was numerous rolls of TP in the trunk of my 66 when I bought it! I figured the previous owner had some severe case of IBS or something. haahahahahaa!!!! I fixed mine via using a 67 coronet center cap from a hub cap, that says "dodge...

    TTI Headers on a 340 in a 65 Dart

I managed to fit a 74 valiant 360 drivers side manifold in my 66, it has the larger ports to match your 340. The only requirements for it was i had to replace the sheisty pot-coupler with a stainless u-joint style coupler from sweet manufacturing, and cut down the steering shaft about 2 inches +...

    TTI Headers on a 340 in a 65 Dart

if you have a 904 its hit or miss whether a good ol nippy-mini will fit or not. Just did TTI's on my 66 with a 904, clockable powermaster, and i still had to dimple the header ever so slightly. initially I tried a "large case" mini from a 92 dakota that i picked up 10+ years ago, cylinder 5...

    IM BAAAAACK!!!! (tons of pics!)

The base is fairly tall, with that I cant say yay or nay, due to me not having a console to measure. However if you call Brian (the owner of Kilduff machine) he will literally build you whatever you want, as long as youre very detailed on the measurements and specifics. Very straight and to the...

    IM BAAAAACK!!!! (tons of pics!)

sure is! 3qt setup with the 22-25psi EPC valve. works very well. even though canton recommends using the check valve upon installation the unit will still peg 40psi pre-lubing when i hit the key to start. Mind you im running a good ol 1515 with the viton bypass valve, so im sure that helps. I...

    IM BAAAAACK!!!! (tons of pics!)

So after a 4+ year hiatus (sorry...) I FINALLY got to the point in life where I could afford to play around and build my 66 the way I have wanted to since i got er back in 2005. 4 years ago I took this pile-o-smiles on its first legitimate car show, 200+ miles one way, and actually won best...

    [FOR SALE] 1974 DART CUSTOM

I have a battle tank of a dart for sale. Montana car pretty much its entire life shes seen some action. First off, yes, the body is crusty. The subframes appear to be solid. no obvious damage or rust. Leaks coolant like a sieve from the timing cover where it meets the block, upper passengers...

    Early A body Slant/6 to 70's 360 swap

The 727 wont clear the pinch weld in the trans tunnel without some massaging. as for the trans, my 66 was column and now its cable/on the floor via B&M kit and a kilduff lightning rod shifter. the factory 273 manifolds will choke out the large port 360 heads something fierce on the drivers side...

What are the best pan gaskets these days ?

These. http://www.magnumgaskets.com/ I believe they have oil pan gaskets with molded in windage trays available too. I know they do for big blocks, and they offer the silicone side seals for the rear main seal caps too, just like 440source. Anyway, check em out and see what they have for small...

    The Situation: 360 Water pump

I edited my post since you responded, I tried to catch it in time. Sitting here cooking dinner and had some after thoughts....haha so anyway, my main after thought is, you're stuck with the timing cover you have, since its a 360. All 360s 72+ have the timing tab on the drivers side, so, 70+...

    The Situation: 360 Water pump

Make your life easy, get brackets, pulleys, P/S, and water pump from a 70+ small block, of any displacement. Only hang up is the 273/318/340 timing covers wont work due to the end seal to pan U. 360s are larger, and the timing tab is on the drivers side. but with an aluminum water pump and...
