Torsion Bar Upgrade for '65 Barracuda Formula S

I'm considering upgrading the stock .87" torsion bars in my '65 FS to a bit thicker bar, possibly the .89" if I can find some. This is a restoration, it has the original 273 4bbl, but I am including some upgrades. These include KH disc brakes, 15" radial tires with rallye wheels, and Moog...

Rebuilt A 833 front oil leak

Instead of starting a new thread, I thought it would be best to stick with this one. So...I fixed the leak on the countershaft, but I also have a very small leak at the reverse detent assembly. This assembly appears to have two gaskets, one on the plug and one on the base. I have the gasket...

Sounds Lile the tank's not venting. Have you blown compressed air into the vent tube to make sure it's clean? Does Pennsylvania have the body seal on the gas pump handle like CA?

    For Sale Ads....

I've got parts listed that didn't sell, and they are way past 30 days. As a Gold member, how do I "bump" (relist) these ads? 2nd question, when I bump the ads can I reduce the price as well?

Subframe connectors for a driver/cruiser, necessary to weld to floor?

I'm getting close to installing USTC subframe connectors on my '65 Barracuda FS project. The reason for installing them is to (hopefully) eliminate the body flex that causes cracking at the base of the rear window. My body man did put extra welds in the corner joints, but also encouraged me to...

1965 barracuda seat upholstery kit install difficulty

My '65 Barracuda front buckets have listing wires attached to the springs under the burlap from the factory. Does anyone know why Legendary instructs you to add them on top of the burlap?

1965 barracuda seat upholstery kit install difficulty

Thanks very much for the details on the installation, it looks great. I'm doing one seat at a time so I can refer back to the second one if I need to, along with pictures of course. I still have to strip the first frame of the old material and prep and paint. I've watched all the appropriate...

1965 barracuda seat upholstery kit install difficulty

69FBCuda thanks for the reply. I'm looking at mine and these things look very challenging to reinstall. Did you use new cording at the ends where the wire wraps around? Did you need to bend the wires around the cording, or did it clip on?

1965 barracuda seat upholstery kit install difficulty

I've started restoring my '65 Barracuda front buckets with a full Legendary kit including foam. My buckets are original and they have fine wires woven in the burlap about an inch apart (see picture). I asked tech support at Legendary about these and they said they were not necessary. This does...

[SOLD] **REBUILT** KELSEY HAYES DISC BRAKES For The 1962-72 A Body Line Of Cars.

hemi71x, When the hubs with rotors are mounted on the spindles, and caliper(s) bolted on, do the seals or caliper rub the hat at all? If not what is the approximate space between the seals and rotor hat?

'64-'65 Valiant/Barracuda Bucket Seat Track Springs?

I'm restoring the front buckets from my '65 (12-4-64 build date) right now. They each have two track springs (the long ones) and two release springs. Post #4 above, from a '64 Barracuda, shows one track spring in the picture. Since there is a provision in each seat for two track springs, I...

Rotors available (for now) for K-H disc brake cars

Saw these R1 rotors on Amazon, and I have a Prime account so thought I'd give them a try: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BGT58D5R?tag=fabo03-20 To make it easy to check the fit without using a hydraulic press to mount them, I took some old hub bolts and ground off the knurling just enough to be...

Rebuilt A 833 front oil leak

So...I went ahead with the patch method on the leaking countershaft. I cleaned the area several times starting with acetone and ending with brake clean and compressed air in between applications. I used Permatex for Gear Oil, and cut a patch of .030" gasket paper exactly 1-1/8" diameter, which...

    Kelsey Hayes rotors

Yes, the caliper tip is rubbing too. My theory is that people with project cars (like me), buy the parts but don't install them immediately. They sit on a shelf until needed and by that point they can't be returned. Add to that the difficulty of having to press out and press in the lugs...

    Kelsey Hayes rotors

A follow-up to my last post, #25 (above). I did order and receive the rotors from Rock Auto. I received machined hats even though cast hats are shown in the listing on RA. These have the same problem, the diameter is too large and rub on the caliper seals. I have a large measuring caliper...

    Kelsey Hayes rotors

Within the last 3 years, I've bought 4 pairs of new machined hat rotors, and once mounted, all rubbed the seals. Sent 3 sets back for refund and cut the last pair down on a lathe to clear the seals. I have two pairs of used swap meet hubs with cast hat rotors. Both pairs were on their...
