Yeah, no. Plain old stock is what I want . Not wider, not disk brakes, not custom drilled axles to my pattern. Otherwise I’d have a go with the b body rear I have.
love to find a 8.25 with 3.20-3.50 gears that will bolt straight into my '73. I've got a 69-70 B body open rear end with highway gears for partial trade if that helps. I will pick up within 200 miles of Cataula GA
Maybe it would be good to split the Fuel section. Start a new section for Fuel Injection because so many of us are going that way and it's a totally different beast than the carbs are. Having only fuel injection talk in one section would let us all search a bunch easier and not annoy the carby guys.
let's start a thread (with pics) of all the available a body model car kits. Amt, Ertl, Polar Lights, Monogram, Johan, Dealer promos and even Die Cast. I'm personally looking for a four door body so I can build a '73. Any other modelers out there?
My '73 has the bow type headliner, L1B5 code, blue CLOTH NOT VINYL. anyone know the best place to get a new one?
EDIT- SMS HAS THE FABRIC AND PATTERNS TO MAKE IT.
it's because using the timing controls in teh F.I. can make the rotor so far away from the contact point that the spark will want to jump to the next wire contact rather than the correct one. it just makes the spark stronger and more stable when fiddling with timing. Imagine if you could have...
OKAY SO I FIGURED IT OUT. MSD STOLE THE DESIGN OFF THE POINTS SBC CAP. SO IF YOU NEED ONE ON A TRIP, GET A SMALL BLOCK CHEVY CAP WITH POINTS, THE WINDOW WILL BE USELESS BUT WHO CARES, AND USING THIS I CAN NOW INDEX MY ROTOR WITH A $5 DOLLAR CAP.
I have a billet distributor in my 360 dart to go along with my fuel injection. Now I need to index the distributor rotor. Which means cutting a hole in a cap. So can I go to the store and buy a generic cap that will fit, has female terminals. and doesn't cost mega bucks like the cap that came...
The DMT kits do come with instructions that have pictures showing all the major components of the box. The picture quality isn’t perfect, but it was good enough for me to walk me through restoring my own heater box. Your other option is a service manual for you car, between the two you should be...
the load leveler is extremely useful. drain the tranny though. and since you need a k member for the v8, drop it out the bottom with the k member attached, way easier.
This might be old hat for most of you but here it is anyway. As part of my ongoing rebuild efforts I took the heater/evap box off and look at all these leaves! I figure most of us have the same problem. Taking the box out is a bunch of work, but there is no reason you have to because with two...
"73 Dart. I have to pull lots of things off because of a problem laundry list -wiper bushings, heater core, speedo cable, vacuum hoses. is there anything else I should do while I have the dash all apart? was considering pulling the evaporator core and replacing it with something more appropriate...
stock 340 cam, 9.5 to 1 compression rear gears are whatever the slant had(too high for sure) as it's still got the 7 inch rear end that'll probably blow up if I ever get traction, not a concern with the skinny 14's though. The best part is the fuel injection, it starts quick, idles super...
the d-50 is the latest restoration. 1979 2.6 5 speed with paint, stripes, interior, wheels, the works. it looks fairly close to what a 79 would look like in about 83, after a few miles and a bit of wear. the other 73 is a donor car, I had to buy an entire car to get the shifter and the glass...
You guys might know from my profile pic that I have a 73 Custom. the slant finally died and I got permission to do a v-8 swap. I've now got a 360 with x heads, Atomic FI, rebuilt 904 and rebuilt frontend. two years of work culminates in a startup today! thanks to all the guys who sold me parts...
see the pics for castings, the right is a 67-72 casting number, the left is a later casting but looks identical to the one that used to be on my 72 318, so once installed you won't notice. Both are clean and uncracked. Located in Cataula GA, 31804. the shipping will be actual cost, price is $100...
as the title suggests, what does this fit? can I use it to swap with the suggested 2780945 manifold I'm supposed to have on my 73 dart? I don't want to buy a manifold if I don't have to.
its the rear one next to the dipstick. Two bolts in the end of the head and one to the rear of the alternator. it's from AC and Power equipped cars, the non-ac cars have the alternator bolted directly to the head. This photo has had the aircon removed so it's a nice clear shot at the rear...
anyone figure out how to run a stock distributor mag pickup with the Fitech and still have timing control? is should be capable of controlling the timing with the distributor locked down and a phaseable rotor right?(anyone find one ?) it sure would save a bunch of money vs a new distributor.
