    Probably a Dumb 318 Question

Have you guys ever seen a real hot 318?or been in one
  20. Joey N

    Probably a Dumb 318 Question

I had a 383 for my duster but decided not to do it because the 318 is so much less weight on the front end and so I would rather it handle better and that 383 was a pain in the *** to roll around my dirt back yard on a cherry picker with steel wheels

    Probably a Dumb 318 Question

Current pistons are 1.720 or 1.740 comp height so no good that’s why I’m going new
  22. Joey N

    Probably a Dumb 318 Question

I’m using aluminum heads the ones that were on it are open chamber 675 heads surprisingly the engine was cranking 170psi per chamber
  23. Joey N

    Probably a Dumb 318 Question

Should I do 1.800 comp height pistons and then deck the block so it’s true which these pistons are around 9.7 comp with 64cc heads. The heads I have are 65cc closed chamber and then I’ll use .039 fel pro gasket for its reliability
  24. Joey N

    Probably a Dumb 318 Question

I’m just running a 727 3200 stall probably shift kit but may go billet servos, reverse manual valve body
  29. Joey N

    Probably a Dumb 318 Question

I mostly drive within my town which is pretty small but sometimes do freeway so I was thinking 3.73 is a good middle ground
  30. Joey N

    Probably a Dumb 318 Question

Reason I grabbed the 340 ones is because my block is a 74 engine and I don’t believe it comes with good rods that year I could be wrong but I am also doing as much of the work at home so I wanted to be able to put the pistons into the pins with little to know trouble unlike the press fits, I am...
