Clicking noise from dragging front brake

I recently had a shop complete some front end work on my 72 Duster. There is still some play in the steering, but the main concern came from the brakes. After one of the rear shoes fell off in the drum not a day after having the car back, a couple days later I noticed a clicking sound coming...

Not my A body, but winter Sebring

Today I had the tires of my winter car, a 2004 Chrysler Sebring, rotated. I would have done it my self but without a garage in snow land, that can be interesting. Anyway, after the rotation, there is a loud thumping noise when breaking or accelerating at low speeds. Once the car picks up speed...

What about this new Ethanol E-15?

I have been reading very negative reports about the EPA's push to standardize the use of E-15 gasoline, even though it seems to damage vehicles. I am wanting to purchase a Dart or Valiant as a daily driver in a few months, and am concerned about this Ethanol mandate. Is there an additive (like...

Looking for Dart/Valiant in SouthWest Ohio

I am looking for a 1967-1972 Valiant/Dart in Southwestern Ohio in Early August for a daily driver. I am not too concerned with body/interior, but it needs to be mechanically sound. It also needs to have working gauges. I don't mind having to do some body or interior work. My budget is around...

    1970 Plymouth Valiant

I am leaving for the military, and I am attempting to sell my 1970 Plymouth Valiant. It has 111,000 miles on it. The car has had three owners; the original owner did not maintain the car well. It sat for a long period of time. The previous owner told me it had sat for over ten years, but there...

temp gauge dosen't read; but others do

I have read that a non working gauge usually means the voltage regulator is out. However, the alternator and fuel gauges work fine. I have thought about just replacing the whole instrument panel, as the speedometer dosen't work either. What would cause the fuel gauge to work and the temperature...

Coolant leak out exhaust manifold bolt #6

A mechanic told me that I have a cracked head, but I am not sure. My Valiant, slant six, has a small coolant leak out of the exhaust manifold bolt number 6. It usually just burns off, but if the car is parked up hill, quite a bit will drain out. I just went through flushing the cooling system...

    flushing a heater core

Recently, as it got cold hear, I learned my car does not have heat. I checked the heater core, which wasn't leaking, and checked to make sure that the vents opened up properly, which they did. I figure there must be something stopping up the heater core causing it to not circulate antifreeze. I...

    engine stall/lack of fuel

This is the first mopar ive ever owned and, frankly, the oldest car I have ever owned, so please forgive me if this is a simple problem. My 1970 Valiant tends to stall driving around town when the accelerator pedal is pushed lightly. If I push hard on the pedal, though, the car accelerates...

    Tail Lamps do not work

On my 1970 Valiant, the Brake lights, turnsignals and headlights all work fine. However, the rear tail lamps and license plate lamp do not work. I have checked the fuses, which are all good, as well ast the wiring, which does not seem to be grounded out. Has anyone else had this problem?
