    I don't know the part or stamping numbers your using BUT I do recall when I did a big block conversion in an a body (440 into 68 barracuda that was originally a 318) with Schmacher mounts they recommended using a C body oil pan and it worked.

    Lagging when shifting?? (727 auto, w/ full manual valve body)

    Please clarify. Your title line says "W/ FULL MANUAL VALVE BODY." If it is indeed a full manual valve body then you don't have "D" you have 3rd gear. A fully manual valve body does not shift automatically at all.

    You might try raising both rear wheels with the trans in neutral and spinning a tire 1 revolution and count how many times the drive shaft rotates then say it's 3 1/4 turns it 's 3.23s etc. I believe it's easier to change the whole center section (pumpkin, hog head). You can usualy pick them...

    Thank you Cudamark. Yeah, I recall that fuel miser option and if it has it thats the driver's side fender mounted signal that lights up. I also have a broken ported vacuum switch that is related to the EGR valve, I wonder if that's it.

    1972 Holley OEM?

    I have had 3 cars that came with Thermoquads ( 2 '72 340's and a '76 360). They are good carbs but I find them hard to adjust & maintain adjustment. I replaced them with the Holley spreadbore listed as the stock replacement & loved them. No bog and you could roll into it and spin the tires.

    340 4 speed to 440 4speed conversion

    IU did a 440 68 'Cuda w/ automatic. I do know with the Schumacher kit you have to cut a notch in the k-member for the oil pump/filter and use an oil pan from a C body. I've heard their headers will fit on a 4 spd. a body with a 440. Also 72/73 C body exaust manifolds are said to work.

    Anybody use a b-body 8.75?

    I used a 68 B body 8 3/4 in my 66 cuda by moving the spring perches in 1/2 inch on each side. Bolted right in. Tire size was limited to 205/70/14 using rally wheels. without jacking, cutting or special offset.

    You can get that bushing from Pat Blais. He's on line "T'flite Patty," or "Torqueflie Patty." He is also on ebay. He is a torqueflite expert especially early ones. I got that bushing when I put a 360 in my 66 cuda with the original 904.

    I have good things to say about the 400 also. A bigger 383 with low compression. I had a 73 from a C-Body I put in my Challenger with a 727 and 3.55 8 3/4. Rebuilt .030 over, 9:1 pistons, 383 Magnum cam & intake, electronic ignition, headers and a Holley 650 spread bore: great on the street...

    differnce between 1966 904 trans and 1967

    I swapped a 360 into a 66 Barracuda that was previously a 273. It had a 904 automatic. I got a bushing that adapted the new motor with older trans/converter. "Torque Flight Patty" has the part, I just noticed it the other day on ebay.
