I have not removed the rust so do not know on the pitting.The rust is on a few of the teeth and not the whole ring gear. The 3:91's are for the 489 case.

Looks like you got it right, but i would smack it a few times with a mallet and see if the preload is the same.

Call summit and save yourself some money,I think 2700 is a little high for your cam and gear selection. I think a summit brand converter SUM-G2709-12 is around 200 bucks 2000-2200 stall. That is for a 727,I didn't see what transmission your using or HUP-27-20 for the 904 $235.00 2000 stall.

Many things can cause an early upshift, i think i would have tried checking or adjusting the throttle linkage first. Leaving the accumulator spring will not cause and early upshift,sounds like a pressure problem to me. Also the governor and rear differential gear plays a big part on when it...

I don't like the bolt together mounting brackets.Dr diff has a one piece mounting bracket which installed great. I live 15 minutes from Toms classics and i bought my kit from dr diff if that says anything.
