    Seat height question

Some came up for sale locally for cheap and I almost did the same… also found some high back Mach 1 seats that also had me thinking

    Brazilian Charger

The Dodge GTX and the Braz Chargers have always been super cool to me. I bet of a person in the US wanted to use some of the Braz Charger parts such as a grille, it would be unobtainium

    Seat height question

After stumbling across this surfin the web.. at least as far as Dodge’s advertised specs go the 270 trim level which came with a bench seat compared to a GT/GTS trim level which had buckets.. the bench seat height is 8.9” and the bucket seat height is 8.3”. Doesn’t seem like much but may feel...

    Source for A-body 8 3/4 10x1.75 brake drums?

Ordered a pair that’s due to arrive Tuesday from Summit, I’ll report back on what arrives If ya search for a 67-69 Barracuda they show they fit.. but if ya look it up for a 67-69 Dart, says that it doesn’t.. an odd mess up with their info

Found a Source for 10” rear drums with 1-3/4” shoe

I ordered a pair of them from summit due to arrive Tuesday.. I’ll let y'all know if they’re correct.. their Q&A section on said part says it’s for a-body 8 3/4 rears… we shall see. They should be anyhow..

What are y’all using for column mounted tachs?

Indeed it is… it’s currently an auto on the column but I’m going to 4 swap it in about a month from now..figured what better place to mount one than in the column since I won’t be using in that way again..

What are y’all using for column mounted tachs?

Is something that has modern guts inside of an old housing ?
  8. FlamesAreWicked

What are y’all using for column mounted tachs?

Yeah it looked like a AA battery but was only 1.37v and yeah… unobtainum.. The Bosch Super Tach might be a good compromise. Not as cool as a vintage Sun Tach but.. far more feasible and practical

What are y’all using for column mounted tachs?

I’m a fan of “Day 2” modifications and I found a vintage SST-70 tach on eBay I’d like to use. These use a separate transmitter box believe. There’s some on eBay also and they’re sold as untested. There’s a guy online “Tach Man” that refurbishes the transmitters.. assuming buying a used one is...

    4spd swap checklist for a 68 Dart GT 318/904

I don’t know how to weld so the A body housing I did find and then bought was lucky.. I just had to spend a day road tripping it.. I’m getting a center section from a fellow member here and possibly some brakes also from a fellow member here. It’s coming together slowly.. maybe by Christmas I’ll...

    4spd swap checklist for a 68 Dart GT 318/904

For me here in Louisiana, I had to take an 8hr round trip to Mississippi to find just an 8 3/4 housing. It was only 600 bucks with just the axles included. Whether it was cheap or overpriced.. I needed it. On the 4 spd prior to the one I bought for sale, I was looking at a 500 mile radius and...

Something about a blower I never realized

With the availability of turbo kits, centrifugal super chargers, twin screws, and so on, you can make all the power you desire. doesn’t beat the cool factor of a blower sticking out of the hood.. Kinda like when Finnegan built T-bizzle.. 100% stock 80s 5.0 Thunderbird with a 671 blower...

    Seat height question

The condition of the seats currently in it is pretty good. It’s been reupholstered at some point.. dark grey vinyl and light grey velour.. seem to have lots of spring, to me at least. I’m not a tall fella and it seems to sit high. Being lots of cars now says have a high belt line, it gets ya...

[Found!] A-body SBP 8 3/4 brake backing plates

Definitely good to know.. I’m not worried about it being OE.. I believe summit keeps the narrower version of the drums in SBP.. 72-older. Which ever I can buy brake parts for and keep the small pattern

[Found!] A-body SBP 8 3/4 brake backing plates

I’m slowly getting my 8 3/4 housing put together and I’m on the hunt for backing plates. I’m planing on keeping it small bolt pattern for the time being since I already have the small bolt axles. So I’m looking for whatever would have came on a 68 Dart 8 3/4. The more complete the better but...

    Seat height question

I appreciate the offer but it’s not necessary. I’m thinking since the bench mounts to the raised rails on the edge of the floor nearly the door sills and the buckets mount to the flatter part of the floor that it’ll be lower.. unless the difference in brackets/mounting hardware makes them the...

    Seat height question

My car is a 68 Dart GT which would have came with buckets. At some point in its history, a stock style bench was swapped in. Would the stock buckets sit lower than the bench? In plan to swap in some basic looking ProCar buckets eventually and hoping that would give me a little lower seating...

    4spd swap checklist for a 68 Dart GT 318/904

This particular one was a known running engine pulled from a Ram pickup. My lil 318 seems to run pretty good but I plan to do probably a magnum 5.9 at some point. Hard to believe that the 5.7 hemi has been around 20 years now.. magnums are getting tougher to find..

    4spd swap checklist for a 68 Dart GT 318/904

What’s the usual going rate for one? I found one near me and they wanted 1200.. I dunno if that’s sky high or about the usual.. think it has 150k-ish miles

    4spd swap checklist for a 68 Dart GT 318/904

I’m gonna be using the later roller bearing. The clutch alignment tool that I bought from Brewers is just a repurposed 23 spline input shaft from a transmission.. I would think how that fits should give me an idea how well it’ll fit or it at all for that matter. It’ll be a bit more work but I...

    4spd swap checklist for a 68 Dart GT 318/904

I did..I bought it from Venom Classics in Mesa, AZ. I took the plunge since finding one locally wasn’t really an option. Shipping was reasonable and the trans came out of a rotisserie restored 71 Swinger. Their customer wanted to put an automatic in it. My 904 needs a rebuild so, rather than...

    4spd swap checklist for a 68 Dart GT 318/904

I ran it through the gears with the handle popped in.. it shifts really well. I love the look of the pistol grip but I also find the ball handle better for comfort.. with the prices of the pistol grip alone, I may just swap the shifter to the hurst competition shifter. Since mine has the bayonet...

    4spd swap checklist for a 68 Dart GT 318/904

After scouring the internet in dozens upon dozens of forum threads.. some have said they’ve never seen a small block that wasn’t, others have said that all pre-70 small blocks were drilled.. and some have said it’s a mixed bag.. The alignment tool I have is from brewers, it’s essentially an...
