    Kickdown linkage

Welcome, I haven't been around lately.... As others have stated a bit of head-banging and you will find the correct adjustments. I bet I was close to beating things up before everything lined up correctly for me. Once done and setup correctly.....it seems EZ the next time.

    Melted B&M Shift Cable

Same thing happened with my old slap shifter. It wasn't heat at all, but with the shifting over time at the bend the inner cable just sawed through outer sleve. I think thats how B&M makes extra money....because their replacement cables are way better but $$.

    Happy Camper!!

:cheers::cheers::cheers:I want to thank "everyone" for your excellent support and past suggestions on my trans upshifting problem. I got everything together today and she running superb!! :toothy10: I'm quite surprised that putting the TF-2 kit into a 904 valve body, then into the 727...

    Still Fustrated!!

Well...I "think" I found the problem  (it was me in earlier adjustments). Would like some conformation on what you think before I put it in. :read2: I found that my adjustments for the pressure regulator valve was set at 1 9/32 which states it's for TF-1 with the "original" spring...

    Still Fustrated!!

Well, looks like there's no more bites other then what I already had. So I decided to pull and have the valve body out now. I sure hope it is a valve body problem now that it is out and not that there's a higher stall or that it would cause the problem. I think all I can do is rip it apart and...

    Still Fustrated!!

Hi guys, last year (May 07) I had upgraded my 727 with the Transgo Shift kit, however I had upshifting problems both through manual shifting and auto. :angry7: Some may remember my problem (link below please read). Anyways...I didn't fix the problem last year being "trans fustrated" until I took...

    727 Trans shift help ASAP

To tell you the truth, Three days ago on a long road I gave it and it would'nt shift?? That how I found out. If you remember back, I found out there was a kit in it already. I just put in some new springs, and a new servo seal. I also ensured the adjustments were correct with the card guage and...

    727 Trans shift help ASAP

NOPE!! Backed the kickdown rod right off. I bet I only have 50% kickdown now at the lever! The throttle pin dosn't even contact the back of the kickdown rod until half throttle and she still won't shift into 2nd or 3rd when the hammer is down and held. It use to shift on demand EZ 3500 -...

    727 Trans shift help ASAP

Goody, I think your on the money here. My wheels are 25.5" with the 3:91!! When it was in the duster the shifts were bang on "pounded" into gear when shifting. As you asked..1-2 6k "NO" won't shift, it's scary so I have to back off. So your saying I should try to adjust it so the carb throttle...

    727 Trans shift help ASAP

Somethings still not quite right here. Firstly guys, I'm 100% sure that the Transgo TF2 was put in correctly as the shifts are crisp under light load or part throttle. I also ensured my bands were adjusted correctly. Due to the 3:91 under light throttle (cruising) she will shift into 2nd...

    What do you guys think?

Another thought! I can "slowly" cruise in 2nd @ about 15-1700 RPM before she shifts maybe into 3rd. Now I know you have 3:23 gears, however depending on your speed could she be down shifting on you when you let up on the gas. I know it's unlikely! but do you have a tach? When she holds back on...

    904 over-revs going into 2nd

What the heck...might as well readjust the kickdown tight and back off 2 turns to see if you have anything a little tighter or left :evil4:

    What do you guys think?

Could be wrong, but my guess is that a TF-2 and a stock convertor should make no differance? I have a 2500 stall and you know it at about 60 MPH when dropping the hammer! Really springs into action. Your gear are not very deep so I don't think there a problem with that. As far as your rear...

    What do you guys think?

What gears are in your rear now? I noticed a big differance in my car as well. 727 with TF-2 and 3:91. Firsty, I thought my brakes were dragging holding me back or something was wrong. After talking to the guys...the lower gears and trans shift kit changes things a lot.....shifting, kickdown...

    reverse doesn't work in 904

:stop: Just don't do what "I" did the first time I ever adjusted my bands...The adjuster threads look cruddy so I took it all the way out for cleaning......"wrong":angry7:, the book didn't say "not to take it out". Well, the band and blocks fell off and at the time I didn't know it. I was pretty...

forgot to put slide spring on kickdown at trans

I would think it's there to keep your kickdown in the most forward position (I guess)...but I haven't seen a spring right at the trans before. You must have a different kind of setup. It's something new to me.

reinstalled trans, now problem with shifting linkage

For some reason your hole "C" on the trans looks (like the shaft can pop out too EZ). Does it have a locking pin? or...could your shaft be in backwards? If it came apart, it should go back together no problem as long as everything lines up correctly. Try starting with the trans lever and work...
