Yes there is a different location for the mounting block, depending on year. Someone posted recently, I've been trying to locate the thread to see the year the change happened. Bump.

I might even be less of a hassle to slide the axles out and leave the parking brake attached to the backing plate, and take the backing plates off. If you don't plan on re-using/rebuilding that rear. Another option?

That is usually the easiest, quickest way.

Are the drums off? There's a "C" clip inside the drum, holding it on the backing plate. And yes, they are not hooked to the shoe, but a lever.

That's the way mine are DD, power brakes, not that it should be different routing for standard brakes, that I'm aware of. And I believe my lines are still factory original, aside from flex line to caliper.

It doesn't matter what body style the drums came from. The backing plates are different from 1 3/4" to 2 1/2" drums, the bolt pattern you already know. The offset is built into the backing plate. There is also differences in drum diameters, 10"-11". My understanding ( I haven't tried...

The difference in length will be from the proportioning block on the axle. Therefore order lines for a B body, frome the axles proportioning block to the cylinders.

Apparently, they are still available at NAPA and other parts stores. I remember reading a thread on here, and a part number was even supplied. I wouldn't be suprised if 'Ma Mopar still had them. Those were generic for years. Giles
