Has anybody used one of the flywheels from Rockauto? I need one for a 1974 318. I assume Rockauto flywheel are China made. I just do not want to replace it 5000 miles down the road. But I really do not want to spend $400 on a flywheel.
I bought a NOS Comp + shifter with the rods and levers a few years ago. I was thinking the shifter was the same but the rods and levers were thicker metal than stock.
Has anyone used a Hurst Indy universal shifter in their A body before. Two of the shift rods look to be straight and I know factory shift rods have bends in them.I just want to make sure there will be no issues with the rods if I use this shifter.I can not afford to do it twice...
Brewers does sell the Hurst shifter+rods new for $459.00 I missed that on their website yesterday.
Rusty I perfer new I just don't want a wore out sloppy shifter. But it looks like I could get a rebuild kit for $89.00.Truck shifter I though I had to have an A body shifter??
The Comp + is a...
yes an A body.I sent one into Brewers when I had my GTS and it was sloppy as hell when they got done eith it.The rebuild kit id just shims right? What is the part # or # on the side for a Comp +?
I need to buy a NEW Hurst Comp + shifter and rods.Does anyone know where I might find one cheaper than $500.00 ?
Also looking for a Centerforce 10.5 cluth kit cheaper than $442.99
Thanks,Jim
hmmm maybe I should go with the 318 I have. The 383 with 4 speed and headers maybe be too much of a pain.I could maybe run manifolds but then I would need to detune the 383 abit.
Has anyone here used a cable operated clutch on an A body? How well does it work?Where can I buy one?,I do not see them on the Summit racing site. I want to run a 383,4 speed in a 71 Duster with headman headers and NO Z bar..
Thank You,Jim
