    Why Am I Overheating!!!!!

agreed .....you should have a thermostat. if the flow is not restricted at all by a thermostat then the coolant may not being staying in the radiator long enough to even cool it down properly.

Do i need bigger heads on my 318?

318's don't need bigger heads or valves for that matter unless you are going to look for high rpm use only. if it is a dalily driver w/ very limited upper rpm range 5600+ than keep the 318 stock heads and install larger exhaust valves. look to the many threads on here for further info. bjr is...

What does your bay look like?

oops! i thought you were refering to the engine bay itself not the block! duhh!! my bad. i like the original engine color there where possible, but dosen't have to be...i just think it looks better.

What does your bay look like?

you are not going to find many on here that don't like the engine bay to not be painted the same color as the car. mopars were just ment to be that. that is what separates us from the crowd!

318 Cam and more - advice wanted

it is a matter of opinion on dist.....i like the mopar performance as it does what you need, is a direct fit, and is an easy out of the box setup. i personally don't like a multitude of different brands working together, but that is just my opinion...

318 Cam and more - advice wanted

the 2000 range is going to fit the 262 cam best but without the gearing it won't perform like you want. the 262 will give it a little rumble as well. you should take it in steps. gearing will get you a big kick in the pants for the money spent. do that first. 3.23 is fine for street and still...

318 Cam and more - advice wanted

for what you have now as far as gearing i recommend this 256 cam. it is very easy to live with and will be a bit peppy.......... you could go with the 262 cam as it is a little hotter but it might be alittle sluggish from off the line without the gearing needed. remember never overcam a 318....

    Sb Mopar Head Casting Numbers

yes. even though they have smaller valves in the intake side thier velocity is higher thus makeing up for the smaller valves. they will fall off in the upper ranges 6000 +. if you plan on running this rpm range then add the 2.02 intake valves back....with porting and polishing these can be even...

    Too much Cam for combo??

as long as the bores are good then deck it , rehone the cylinders, and ring it and let it go. lastly are you going to have enough clearence with the valves? the lift of the cam and the 1.6 ratio rockers will put them close to the pistons. better be safe and check for clearence, or you'll be...

    Too much Cam for combo??

run what you have now. the nastalgia cam is not going to be near as good as the ex268. even with that cam you are going to be soft on the bottom end. it would help by getting it decked to zero. try to get your comp ratio to 9.50 to 1. 318's don't need alot of cam.

mike i had wondered how that combo worked for you....i hadn't heard or had missed it. glad to see this combo works as well as it does. if you get a chance post a sound clip of it in the exhaust section so i can hear it idle. i would like to see what the cam sounds like in it.
