Will you go through this in your "golden years"?

As we sunset into our later years it's your body or your brain - pick one. My 81 yo mom has Alzheimer's. It's been difficult to see her go from a vital, strong super woman to a person who can't remember what day it is. It seemed to us like the transformation took place over a short span of...

    Mopar Art

Way cool Brad. A moment in time I'd treasure forever. That whole magical 60's hot rod art genre was the brainchild of Ed Roth that continues to inspire today. Truly a pioneer of the airbrushed t-shirt and custom car culture. Just to spread around a little credit where credit is due. Ed...

    who prints t-shirts on here????

Thank you for the kind words Leanna. Earthmover, I can quote you out on some screen printed tees. I believe there are a couple other members on Fabo printin' cotton as well.

    Lurkers

Low poster here as well. I'll occasionally check the main pages at lunch hour. By the time I see a topic that I can contribute to, it's already handled, usually by someone with way more useful knowledge than me about said topic. I guess I do more reading than posting. I do feel a tad guilty...

    MOPAR suggested reading?

This forum is a wealth of real time info for A-Bodies, a factory service manual is indispensable, and the Dodge Dart & Plymouth Duster Musclecar Color History book by Steve Statham is good although a bit brief.

Very first try at this ... whaddya think?

Nice job Leanna. Looks like a fun project. I have absolutely zero experience with powder coating but I do know a thing or three about color hue, value and chroma as it applies to reproduction and rendering. Maybe it's the photos but the purple appears kind of muddy. I do understand the basis of...

    Favorite discontinued candy or food.

I miss the old breakfast cereals: Kaboom, Crispy Critters, Quake, Puffa Puffa Rice. They just don't make cereal like they used to. Cap'n Crunch tastes like petrified Cardboard nuggets.:pukerigh:

    Alex Chilton R.I.P.

Big Star are often overlooked but they produced some of the finest 70's power pop. RIP Mr Chilton. Here is a couple off their first album, 1972's #1 Record (great album) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pYoMigYHkM4

    Favorite Drummer

That holds true for most any musical instrument. Drum wise, there are those like Bonzo, Mitch Mitchell, Moon, Charlie Watts, Ginger, Ringo and Neil Peart who were in highly visible, benchmark creating bands but they have their off night/clunker tunes as well. Despite that, the reasons we site...

    credit history & employment

It's not like it was when I started my first job but in todays environment all businesses have a target on their back from a lawsuit perspective for real or perceived product liability, discrimination or a multitude of other areas for which they are vulernable. The government has its hands in...

    Mopar Shirts

It's a quick, simple graphic. Not award winning but judging by the response, it conveys the A-Body spirit and enthusiasm of the FABO community nicely. Kudos to Bargehead for his community organizer skills.:supz: Deeds not words.:burnout:

    Wives/Girlfriends = Car Women

Yup, my significant other of the past seven years isn't afraid to get her hands dirty. She's a quick learner. It doesn't hurt that she's a Neuroscience lab tech in a Biomedical Sciences lab. Her dad was a college physics professor so the apple didn't fall far from the tree. Science...

    Mopar Shirts

I wish I knew. It's been some time since I grabbed that jpeg but I'm almost certain it was someone on FABO. Maybe that gentleman will come forward. It's a beautiful F8 green 70 Dart 340.

    Mopar Shirts

You have a PM and an email Bargeahead. AI stands for Adobe Illustrator, a vector art program of which files can be saved in EPS (encapsulated post script) format. I'm assuming their "PS" is Adobe Photoshop, a raster image program, which encompasses various file formats including jpeg, tiff...

    Mopar Shirts

I'm comin' to the t-shirt party maybe a little late but here is my example. The Barracuda is Cudaspaz's and I think the Dart is another member here but I cannot pinpoint who. It's an older jpeg I downloaded last year with no name ref. The Dart is flipped so things read backwards on it but I can...

Least Favorite thing to work on a car.

x2. Doesn't matter if it's a Duster, Ram, or a minivan. First, the body gets twisted up like a cat then the hands and wrists get all scratched up like you've been chasing bees in a rose bush.

    FABO T Shirts

Thank you CudaChick for the kind words. MeMike, I'm just offering up some constructive input regarding the FABO tees mystery. That procedure to sell and distribute tees has worked well on another website plus it generates consistent web/forum upkeep revenue. Tim

Out Of My Archives---1974 360 Duster Road Test

Thanks for posting that Yellowdart. Not much ink exists on the later 340/360 A bodies. I don't have the issue but I recall seeing a road test with a 74 Dart Sport 360 in a circa 1974 Popular Hot Rodding. Car and Driver, April 1976 has a road test of a 76 Dart Sport 360 as well.

Do shops still sabotage cars for profit?

I tend to think a little of that still goes on these days unfortunately. Not long ago, my GF took her Olds Intrigue in for a routine tire rotation at the local Goodyear Tire "big shop". She was already a returning customer. I dropped her off so she could drive it home. The Olds is ready to go in...

    For All The Unemployed!

Keep your head held high Dartman as best as you can. I was cut loose in Dec 08 after a solid 24 years in the printing industry (graphics). I just turned around and became self employed. Any skills you could use to your advantage? The corporate/manufacturing world is gonna be alot different when...

    FABO T Shirts

What sort of road block have you been running into CudaChick? I've worked in the corporate screen printing industry for the past 25 years. There have been a couple flakey owners I've experienced but rarely has a customer not received the results they expected. Are these the big shops or the mom...

After our governor from 79-83, the late Lee Sherman Dreyfus retired, he lived locally by me. He had the initials LSD on his vanity plates. His wife had LSD2. We always got a chuckle out of that.

    The Great Soda Debate!

As an occasional pop drinker, my all time favorite is Graf's 50/50. For the dark stuff, it's Caffeine free regular Coke. We do stock up on the Mexican Coke when it comes around. Real sugar. It has that same kind of snap for me as it did back in the 70's when I was a kid plus, these days, it...

    Old comic books

All good suggestions from the previous posters. As an old paper collector myself, condition is most important. As you will see in the guide, some values are also determined by the artist that drew a particular story and/or the first appearance of a specific character which can boost demand of...

Lets see a vehicle you like from the year you where born.

Mine would be a 63 Dodge Polara Max Wedge, choiced out with the barely streetable 11 to 1 426 wedge and the T-85 three-speed stick. Preferably black with steelies/dog dishes or vintage, 5 spoke American Racing mags.
