It seems to me that if the manifold is off a 360 and the thermo. is in that manifold one would buy one for a 360 manifold. DUH.

why do you want to put all that money in a great motor that they do not build anymore then screw it all up to change the motor. build your 340 and you can be surprised how it will turn on. I would not get rid of my 340 for love nor money. HAPPINESS IS A HIGH WINDING 340. JUST MY OPINION DO NOT...

I had somewhat of the same problem with two Eddie carbs and changed to a holley and have had a very happy 340 since then.

Had 2 EDE's on my 340 duster and had nothing but problems out of them, Got a 650 Holley and have been trouble free. Everyone has their own ideas so do what you think is best for you. BUT Crackback got it right.

Don't laugh but I have used Shell Rotella in my duster from breakin to today. it has all the zinc and additives anyone could need , and it costs less the. just my thoughts to your question, check it out.

What ever temp thermostat you put in is what your motor should be running within a few degrees. I would buy a new temp gauge and at least mount it under the hood and go from there. You may want to install a cooler temp thermostat. Good luck, steve

the first numbers are the casting numbers the 360 is the ci.in. and the 2 is the number of times the mold has been taken apart and resized

if you use a high volume you will possibly suck your syetem dry under high rpm's unless you add a larger oil pan. I have a 340 pushing well over 400 hp and the stock pump is holding average 40 to 50 lbs. I'd stay stock.
