    can I use this coil as is?

    I believe the coil you were given is supposed to run with a full 12v. I've always just by passed the resistor when using those coils.

    On the ebay ad it says that it can't be used on x and j heads "without extra clearancing". I'm guessing because of larger diameter springs? But they list these for the 318/340/360 with extra clearancing for larger springs...

    Edelbrock LD4B with 340 size ports????

    Just measured the ports on mine and they averaged 1.95" x 1.05". It must be a later casting since it has the Mopar part number cast in it.

    I don't think manifold change will give any noticeable hp gain in your situation. But like 340sFastback said I would just change it to get rid of some weight, and it would look cooler too. I would look for an LD340 cause I like the looks of those on a street car. Or an Edelbrock Performer RPM...

    Intakes are designed for different purposes, so first you need to figure out what your main use is. Just an extreme comparison, a tunnel ram would work great on a race only car but would suck on the street. Unless you're running FI on it like DVJCuda.
