    Which K-member to use? Pros/Cons

Since things have slowed and jobs are few and far between, I decided to start on my 68 Barracuda. I was going to pull the engine/trans and work on the front suspension. I was wondering which k-member would be better to use, the stock 67-72 type or the 73 up spool type. Any opinions...

new part i whipped out the other day

I think John (Badart) needs to add this to his line up :D When I was in the R/C car business long ago, we had lots of parts made of delrin. It was easy to dye too, they'd come the natural white color and we'd make them whatever color we wanted......even hot pink!

    easy rear lift?

I might have an extra set of these, I just gotta go thru some boxes. http://www.americanmuscle.biz/35611_ADJUSTABLE_REAR_SPRING_SHACKLES_p/35611.htm

    easy rear lift?

Block will lift the rear if the springs are on the axle. On your Duster the axle is on the spring, so adding blocks will lower your car. You can use air shocks, longer shacles, or leaf springs with more of an arch.

first time k frame swap. need help !

Make sure the torsion bars are removed (or at least slid back), loosen the lower control arm pivot pins and then you should have enough play to get them in.

first time k frame swap. need help !

Guessing you're referring to the strut rods, they go in before the torsions go into the lower control arms. If you don't have enough play to get them in, make sure the lower control arm pins are loosened. Once the strut rods are in, install the torsion bars.

You should also go to this thread and download the 72 service manual, lots of good info in it. http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=132309&highlight=72+service+manual

Are you referring to the strut rods or the torsions themselves?

first time k frame swap. need help !

From reading your last post you didn't follow what two other members told you to do first. Bolt the k member up with the 4 bolts first and make sure its seated right since the bolts have a tapered shoulder. Don't try to connect the strut rods or torsion bars at the same time (or before) you...

    I think I f'd up

Tough love.....you get that around here. Alot of us older guys learned by crawling in, under, and round places in a car that 99% of the human race will never see (or know existed). The internet made it so easy for the young ones to just say "How do I do this?" without really trying. I'm not...

They should be studs that go thru the bracket that bolts to the steering column. Do you have the plastic spacers that go into the slots on the bracket?

    MP road racing springs

Back when I was looking for these springs they were listed as oval track/road racing springs. I was planning on road racing and was told these were the ones. I think they're supposed be 200 lbs/in spring rate.

    MP road racing springs

I have an extra brand new set of the MP 1" arch springs....but they're in Hawaii and shipping would probably quite a bit. I bought two sets years ago and the other set is in Vegas, probably going on my 68 Barracuda.

    Hotchkis Suspensions

They did have some nice stuff and I spent a while telling him the differences in the a bodies suspensions. I told him he should just join in here and he would have all the info he needs, and some great suggestions on what type of parts most of use look for.

    Hotchkis Suspensions

Well I just got back from my 1000 mile trip that went from Las Vegas to Gilbert AZ (to pick up a car) to Santa Fe CA (to drop off said car at Hotchkis) and back home to Las Vegas. It started Sunday evening and ended a little while ago (11:30pm Monday). Hotchkis is now branching out from their...

What Lower Ball Joint Do I Need?

The moog numbers 6pk2goDemon listed should be the ones. The TRW numbers are 10179 & 10180. I'm guessing you're using the AREngineering kit since you mentioned the Mopar Action brake swap. http://www.arengineering.com/instructsheet/index8.html

Help - Energy Susp Strut Rod/LCA Bushings

I was about to post that link when I started reading this thread, but see that you have already found it. I used an American Muscle aluminum strut rod that is about 3/8" shorter and cut about another 1/4" off the bushing.

    Best K-Frame for improved handling?

Hey autoxcuda, is there any preference in k-members between the 72 style or 73? Right before I moved to Vegas I was putting the front end together on my 72 duster. I put in .990 torsions, reinforced the lower control arms, poly bushings with new lower pins, and larger strut rods. I saw the...

<==1971 duster front end suspension! Need suggestions.

There are a couple of companies to get the front end kit like Just Suspensions and PST. As far as the as the ball joints, its just the upper that you would need a ball joint socket. Being a 71 you would need the smaller one.
