If I remember correctly, that is a amp meter, and not a voltage gauge, meaning every time there is "discharge", the gauge dips, like when the idle is low. I would eliminate the amp meter and convert to a volt meter that shows you the discharge of the alternator. I know someone will come along...

So, you need to rewire the whole car? Did the car not come with any wiring? You might want to go through Painless Wiring and just rewire the whole car right yourself...

which harness are you looking for? for the whole car? or the ignition?

You could make your own.... Unless you are going for the stock look?

I always thought the MSD box worked in conjunction with the electronic ignition... but I have no experience with them... Just HEI and electronic...

You could just get the electronic ignition kit and try it again... you don't want points, anyway, IMHO...

I recently converted to HEI... Only a couple of wires....Haven't started it yet, but i know it's putting out sparks

if you bypass the resistor, it will be 12v.. if it is not bypassed, i think it should be 9v.... do you need a return line with your electric pump?

after you bypassed the resister, did you check the voltage with your multimeter?

I JUST replaced my starter relay last week. It clicked, but it wouldn't kick over. If you use your multimeter, you can test to see if any power is coming out of the line that goes to your starter solenoid.. so, it turned out my relay was bad, even though it clicked....

I don't have my oil pressure gauge hooked up yet.. I haven't even bought gauges yet :D so i can't tell you what the sending unit for an electrical gauge looks like... mechanical gauges physically send oil to the gauge to measure pressure.. stock gauges are electric

you can never have too many ground wires... whoever owned your car before probably thought it was a good idea..... No real need for it, though.... there are two types of oil gauges... mechanical and electrical.. if you want to use the stock type electrical, you'll have to get a sending unit and...

I believe the oil pressure line on the engine is located near the distributor....

Oh, I will... I will have a few ground wires running around that engine bay. That's one thing I learned working with car audio: You can never have too much ground. Usually when you buy a amplifier wiring kit, the ground wire they provide is insufficient... I kind of think it is that way when...

I peaked through the holes in the casing... no wires or anything attached... Just seems odd, as I have never seen this before!
