    lobe separation angle

Here's a good read about LSA. I know it's not Mopar but I believe this information also applies. The author is very well known and respected cam expert in the LSx community. http://ls1tech.com/forums/generation-iii-internal-engine/1738022-why-lsa-doesn-t-matter.html

    Stock Block series

Congrats on the runner up. Sounds like a fun series. Wish I could run it. A little heads up about any of the LS powered competitors you may come across. Unless they're running an LS1 or early 4.8 or 5.3 (2005-older) they are likely breaking the 200cc head rule. Common legal head castings...

Return fuel system w/ current parts?

Also, if you need a pressure gauge I highly recommend the Autometer (Autogage) 2172. It's liquid filled but has a pressure release so it reads steady and doesn't have the issues of changing it's reading as temp goes up. Simply open the pressure relief and it reads accurately every time. Best...

Return fuel system w/ current parts?

Here's how I did mine. In your case I'd run a bosch 044 pump, -6an (or -8an if you want)from tank to carb and -8an return line. The pump is an inexpensive, yet proven, performer that will easily supply the fuel you need. Link to pump...

How do you cool you motor in between passes?

I mainly run 1/8 mile stuff, but do occasionally get to Ennis. It really just depends on what's going on. I run bracket and 7.0 index so there's usually something going on within reasonable driving distance.

How do you cool you motor in between passes?

I bought mine off craigslist but this what you're looking for. http://m.homedepot.com/p/Ventamatic-High-Velocity-3-Speed-4000-CFM-Carpet-Dryer-Air-Mover-Floor-Dryer-HVCF-4000UPS/203069674/

How do you cool you motor in between passes?

On very hot days I'll drive the front of the car onto ramps and use a carpet dryer aimed up at the block. I picked up this tip from a very good bracket racer in my area and works quite well. Still not as good as circulating the cooling system with an electric water pump, but usually I can get...

    Seat mounts and harness

One more thing. This guy had his belts through the floor with washers. They ripped out during the accident and almost got him killed. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=Uud7rcwhI5U

    Seat mounts and harness

PLEASE do not mount your shoulder straps to the floor. Technically it is legal but it's a bad idea. In the event of an accident, as your body moves forward the belt will pull down on your shoulders and potentially crush your spine. If you want to use a 5 point harness you need to have either...

4 or 6 Point Roll Bar

Check with Rhodes Race Cars. I'm running a modified version of their 6 pt in the rx7. Ask them to email you a copy of the CAD design before you buy so you can check the measurements. I wound up making a couple changes to their design (widened the top of the main hoop 2" and straightened the...

    what drag slicks ? ?

I was able to document a noticeable improvement in the car's short time consistency (60 & 330 ft increments) by making the switch from ET Street Radials to Hoosier QTPs. Whereas before the car's 60 ft times would vary .02+ during a race day, now I'm looking at consistent passes of less that .01...

Starting line rpm enhancer for foot brake.

He pre stages, looks at his tach to get the rpm where he wants, then lights the full stage bulb. Nothing fancy, just his routine. On a side note, thanks for sharing that. I've subscribed to follow his season.

    some msd/o2 sensor experience needed

I currently have both the AEM (mine) and Innovate (borrowed from a friend for datalogging) gauges in my car. The AEM seems to be more sensitive and jumps around quite a bit. The Innovate seems a bit more stable. I actually like it a little better for this reason. Both have new sensors and...

Starting line rpm enhancer for foot brake.

I would only see that being accepted at races that allow a 2-step, as it basically does the same thing. None of the footbrake races I run allow 2-steps so that device would be frowned upon. Interesting idea though. If someone wasn't paying attention nobody would notice because the engine...

Anyone thinking about attending Drag Week 2015?

We've done Drag Week twice now and it's easily the best time I've had with my car. If you think you can make it, GO. It's loads of fun.

    Progressive Nitrous systems....

I had great luck with the NOS mini. It's cheap, easy to program with the handheld remote (once you go through it a couple times), and can do a lot for it's inexpensive price. Pretty much anything someone with a single plate kit could want, even make a single kit mimic 2 stages (had fun playing...

Racing season is coming, are you ready?

Bought a data logger this year to step up my game, but the car is currently tore apart on a buddy's lift. Out first race is the first Sunday of next month. Gotta get going.

Summit Super Series Rookie. Any tips??

In your situation I'd prefer to chase. Your competitor has to leave first giving them a chance to red light first handing you an instant win. Also, when chasing the entire race is in front of you which makes it much easier to race the stripe, especially for a novice racer. If I were in your...

DA and tuning at a different track?

You may be running a little too rich if it continues to gain with that much timing. Are you running an a/f gauge or reading the plugs?

    Camshaft theory

If there is an off the shelf cam you like, other than the lift, just run a higher ratio rocker (1.6 or 1.7). With a 1.5 ratio rocker there can only be so much lift ground into the cam or the lobe will become too aggressive.

    Racers please chime in--Thanks

Change everything (oil, trans, diff) at beginning of season using synthetic fluids, then the oil again somewhere halfway through the season. I've averaged over 150 passes/year for the past 2 years. It may be overkill but is worth it for me since I also do a few thousand street miles on top of...

    Front Drag tires!????

Depends on the tire. I run 165/80-15 Kumho Powerstar tires on mine and Discount Tire refused to mount them on my 3.75" wide wheels because the manufacturer says 4" is the minimum. I had to go to a mom and pop place to get them mounted and balanced. IMO they would work on a 5" wheel. They are...

FABO racers, could use your help to win a bet.

Car is getting a rollbar right now along with several other safety items to be legal. I'm going to see if I can offset the weight by removing it elsewhere so hopefully it'll be the same or lighter when all done. My particular car is considered a luxury model with power everything, extra sound...

    mild steel vs. chrome moly

No big weight difference between the two. It's only .1 lb/ft lighter so if you use 75 feet of tube to build your cage you'll save 7.5 lbs over mild steel. IMO that's not worth the additional hassle and significant increase in cost.
