On the track I hate the RMVB as i am stuck in 3rd at the end of a run. If something breaks I can't slip it into neutral, have to go down through the gears first.

He hung up on me when I wanted my 904 rebuilt to take the 416 power (maybe 550 HP) and retain the kickdown. I knew it would work cause I was already running it. Kenny at PTC got a kick out of that and did my 904.

I don't want no cracked nuthin in my 727. That thing is too close to my lead foot.

Is the housing back braced? I ask cause if the tubes have been bent from hard use that can make the wheels hard to turn. Maybe those end flanges have the same effect.

Cope sells PTC converters. Why don't you call PTC directly? Kenny Ford is a big Mopar guy and he races a 69 Valiant in 6.0 index. I had them do my 904 and bought the 11" vert from them.

My Demon that I just got has a RMVB and I kinda hate it. I am used to the forward pattern, and besides, at the end of a run on the reverse VB you can't just slip the trans into neutral to avoid deceleration on the alum con rods.

His inside tire is lifting and he doesn't have sure grip. So the engine revs with no load. I had a 70 toyota van when I was stationed in Japan that would do that if I cornered agressively.

The 8 3/4 has pinion offset. I am worried that the Dana spool is wider at the splines than the 8 3/4 spool, but don't have a way of measuring one to compare.

When I get the Dana in, the 8 3/4 housing will be surplus. Will be quite a while I am afraid.

I will be able to tell you how a built automatic shifting 904 does behind a 500+ HP stroker in a little while. PTC is building one for me now, as well as a 3500-3800 converter. The engine/conv/tranny combo will be shaken down in a lightweight drag Demon and ultimately wind up in a 68 street fish.
