i changed from points to hei on a 70 firebird years ago and used the wire to the positive coil to the hei battery feed it would idle fire right up but stumble and have no power.the hei module has to have 12 volts minimum to work right ....

you could bring it to my house and i will get it dialed in.....

putting an hei module under the dist on a 440 right now...

yeah 12 volts same con as small red on 6albox i will move the ground and try again

well unfortunatly the car wont run with this box hooked up.acts like no spark.unplug the mag pickup line plug it back in where it was the 6 al and unplug the white wire car fires without even being inside.....called msd tech line and they said run a wire to the battery neg. and hook it to both...

ok i have it hooked up but the mag pickup plug is to be used on the multi step box instead of the 6al?yellow wire to white on 6al.

I've seen that setup like that,keeping the factory stuff hooked up.always wondered why they would leave that hooked up.

i know when spraying your supposed to retard timing 2 degrees per 50 hp.will the msd retard selector work? its like seventyfive bucks.or do you have to spend a couple hundred on one of thier other retard boxes?

i still have the ballest,the small red wire goes to the wire in the four wire connector that used to plug in to the stock ecu. i used the hot feed from there.big red to starter relay,black to ground :tard: and the orange and black to the coil.green and purple have a plug in to dist.my car fires...

headlight switch.thats what it was .i had one in my electric box.the plastic around the tab for the tailights was melted kind of.thanks for the replys .

working on a 71 swinger, it's a dd /6 auto.the taillights and license plate light quit.the brake lights still work. any thoughts?no burn't fuses and all bulbs are good.
