What is your car's rarest option?

I got to thinking about what item I would love to find for my car (1966 Barracuda) that I just couldn't find. I soon realized that most of those items I was able to find if I looked long enough and had enough money to buy it. One item that I still haven't found or even seen a photo of is the...

62 Valiant fender tag for an aluminum block car.

The car is long gone, but, I saved the fender tag just for giggles. I never did get into decoding the toad tags.

    Another dash plaque

Apparently they bragged about getting a car custom made back then. I can't even remember what car it was in. Found it in a pull-your-own-part wrecking yard years ago and thought it was kind of neat.

    Military plaques anyone?

This is an interesting one that came on a military vehicle I parted out years ago. You never know what kind of cool dash plaques you'll run across!

    How about a pickup "certicard"?

This is the only one of these I've come across. I'm sure there's more out there but, for some reason, I haven't seen another. Not even sure if they still called them Certicards or not, or even if it was used nationwide. It's bare aluminum and I'm not sure what some of the codes and numbers...

    '64 certicards

So many of these got lost or broken over the years. Here's a couple of them I managed to find over the years. Carl Burger Dodge is still around, but, Stanley is long gone. It's a bit strange that they abbreviate California to Cal on the persons address, but, on the dealership address they use...

    Bad car cover

I bought a car cover on E-bay from CSC Los Angeles, Ca.in December 2013. By the end of April, the material was falling apart. I got in touch with them and they claimed it was beyond their warranty period and didn't cover "wear and tear" anyway....only the seams. This was supposed to be their...

Hi all, Is there going to be a meeting of FABO members in Vegas this weekend? Last couple of years we've got together in the pits on Saturday morning but I haven't been around here lately to talk about it and haven't heard anything. Let me know....I'll be there regardless! Looks like...

My Mopars and parts need a new home!

The time has come. I'm retiring and downsizing so all my extra Mopar stuff has to go. I'd rather not scrap them so if you or someone you know wants a project car and/or parts and can come to San Diego to fetch them, here's an chance to get them. I won't have time to ship anything. If this thread...

    Date code question

I know some couldn't care less about date codes and number matching but this is more a curiosity than anything else. When numbers were stamped into a block, transmission, fender tag, or anything else for that matter, when was it done? When the block was first starting the machining process or...

    CL....you just have to laugh!

It never ceases to amaze and intertain me when I read through the Craig's List ads. I'm sure this poor soul of a Dodge truck owner is good hearted and has been taken advange of, but really, you couldn't see this one coming? Check out the picture of the woman....yeah...I'd be able to pick her out...

I received a bad part. What should I do?

I bought a Dodge pickup manual steering gear from a guy that is worn out and has internal corrosion. Before I ordered it, I asked if he had checked it to make sure it was in good shape. He said it was. I paid in full with a USPS M/O and had him ship it to me. When it arrived, I looked it over...

What are these and what do they do?

Does anyone know the name and function of these two items? The one on the left has one hose connected to it with the other end attached to the intake manifold vacuum tree. One wire goes over to a relay and the other joins the other two relay wires going into the main harness. Someone messed with...

    What the heck is this??

I was loading some scrap today and noticed a muffler with this inside. It's a metal mesh bag with tiny pellets inside and it's attached to the inner pipes with a couple of metal straps. Was it just a weird dessicant bag for moisture while being stored? Or like an anode rod in a hot water heater...

    Paint on stainless?

Anyone know a good source for paint that will stick on stainless? I'm looking to restore some hub caps and the paint is worn off.
