You just need to remember my parents are OLD and my in laws are OLD and it was two years getting the MIL past her cancer and stroke. And now, I just got the green weenie again.

My mom had a surgery scheduled for today. I got here about 5:15 Sunday. Monday at 8:05 my mom got a call (those morons are supposed to call me or my brother first...when I get there next week, there will be no misunderstanding about that agin because my mom doesn't get things straight and she is fretting about this whole deal) from OHSU and put her surgery off until a week from tomorrow. That little screw up will alter my plans until after the first of the year.

So it's not always me dodging out.

On the last Sunday of every month on 92nd and Stark there is a body group that meets at noon.. they have the banquet room open for the meeting and usually quite a few a bodies show up if it's nice..
There is officially 100 people signed up in the group. And it's just a group it's not a club. No dues just people who have a bodies.. and anywhere from 10 to 20 people show up..

Yeah we do that too,I would rather be on a bike as well but I aint gonna do it in this cesspool of a town,I don't know if I would make it to the mountains!

I had the 383 in it for the 05-07 seasons.

Very basic “nothing special” motor combo.
I don’t even remember when I had the machine work done on the bottom end, but it was years before I actually ran the motor.
Stock cast 400 crank(couldn’t find a steel crank....... pre-internet days).
Still externally balanced.
Stock rods with arp bolts, trw L2315’s that I put valve notches in myself.
Block decked so the Pistons stuck out .020”.
Balanced.
906’s with nice valve job(no porting), flowed low-230’s...... milled to 79cc.
Comp custom flat tappet cam(256/262-106), Isky iron rockers, rpm intake, annular 850DP Holley, 1-7/8” headers.

8” converter(5400 stall), 4.56’s, old SS springs, 29.5 x 10.5 bias slicks, flat hood, battery up front, factory 5/16” fuel line, mechanical pump, flat hood, crank driven water pump.
Looked like any other 12-13 second car under the hood.
3670lbs race weight....... 11.82 right off the trailer....... after the car had sat without a drivetrain for 6 years.
That’s using the 6 year old slicks too.

Next pass was 11.62.

Next time at the track it went 50’s....... time or two after that it went 40’s.
It went 11.40@ 3 different tracks like that.

I ended up putting cal-tracs on it with xhd springs, which went no quicker, but was much more consistent.
I also ended up putting an electric w/p drive on it to cool it off good between runs, and put some new radial slicks on it.
Went a best of 11.26 like that.

Then....... I removed the gas tank and put in a cell, added a real fuel system, took out the heater and wipers, removed the rear seat......and put on a fiberglass 6 pak hood.

I only ran it one day like that, which wasn’t a real good weather day(not as good as the day it had previously gone 11.26), and it went 11.18.
Picked up 4mph too........ the motor felt sooo much stronger in high gear with the fresh air and upgraded fuel system.
I discovered a few days later that the right front wheel cylinder was hanging up big time........ so I feel like there might have been an 11.0 in it had that issue not popped up.

That would be good. I took too much time off this summer and need to pad the bank account a little before I make a trip, so I need to hit some OT. I usually hit an outage at a power plant 12 miles from the house ,usually starts in Feb.
 
wow, most have posted I'm not bringing enough artillery to the fight, but the polls show differently :) I have a 4-0 lead over the big Hemi

It looks like 11.8 has now turned into mid 12 hopefully lol... It looks like I'm going to have to wait a couple more years free to find out...
damn it's all my fault too if I would have stayed in that race you would have been doing 11's this year LOL...
Like a drug addict blaming everybody else...

voting was a late start :) . IF mid 12's beats that Hemi, then mid 12's it will be. But mid 12's isn't gett'n it done, so 11's, here I come!

Things are tough all over... Beyond my wife's medical issues I know less than called nine-one-one on myself no less than 2 weeks ago! I was in the hospital the next day with a bag of fluid getting pumped into me.. I'll go get my bimonthly shot in my left eyeball for the mini stroke I had in it in a week. a year ago I had my appendix taken out in an emergency hospital visit.. a year-and-a-half ago a 14 Challenger ran a red light and T-boned me on the driver side and damn near killed me.. that's why I sold the Goldwing and the dirt bike... People don't hear about most of that because well this is the car forum.. this was no disrespect or unsympathetic feelings for your parents whatsoever but just to show things can be tough all over and a lot of being out here talking about the cars gets me away from it...

as a matter of fact that little 16 second clip that I showed of me rolling through the gears on the street my friend took that was visiting from Virginia was the actual day I got out of the hospital for my appendix operation...
People were clowning on me that I wasn't shifting fast enough LOL I was on the street playing around with a friend I wasn't drag racing and also not doing too bad after sleeping the last couple nights in a hospital...

He is super quiet. He already knows he's a mile ahead of me, and he also knows the mile is going to close very fast. Why? Because he knows ME !.
 
here he is in just a few of his races from a roll. Almost every race he let the other cars have huge head starts. He's also taken out a new Porsche, pro charged S197 stang, along with other stuff.
