1964 Valiant "Get Runnin & Drivin"

-
I don't care how many time I see them, your flag themed Crocs make me smile.

The changes just keep comin. The 3.91 gear is just too much "right now", so goodbye 3.91 sure grip and hello original 3.23 open rear end. lol I thought (incorrectly) that the original rear end in Vixen was a 2.93. It's not, it's a 3.23. Found out today when I brought it in the shop, got the cover off to inspect it, clean it up and put fresh gear oil in. It looks fantastic. After I put taller tires on her, we may put the 3.90 back in. We'll see how it unfolds. But with gas prices spiraling the wrong way, the 3.23 will be a nice change.
Out with the new old.

Cool to have some options on hand. Kitty is limited to her selection at this point. She made the right selection from the get-go.

Welp, came home while Kitty had her surgery, ran some errands, got Vixen all finished and test driven, got back to the surgery center about 3 and we STILL just now got back home. lol

Wow! Hope She recovers well! And you, from all the running around!
Thanks. She'll be fine. She's layin over here slam crapped out. lol

....and true to form, even though I've been up and runnin since 5am yesterday morning, I cannot sleep.

That is Great! And, I've been having a hard time getting good sleep myself, work schedules off kilter, then again, Everything Written IS Completely, and Coming True..... unless it's on tha newz

Had to reseal the rear end cover. I used Permatex#2 instead of a gasket and it was seeping. Heck, we use to use it for VW engine case halves and it sealed great. Oh well. Gave me the opportunity to do the old hot rod bright color on the cover. I had some Hemi Orange and used it. Painted the bolts black. lol

Looks Killer! And you got to use up " in stock" materials!
Thanks. I like it because it brings back memories. Back when we were in school, if somebody had their rear end cover or back of the housing painted a bright color, you knew they'd been into it, so they mightta put somethin sneaky in it. lol I caint wait for my high school best friend to see it. He's gonna like it a lot. lol

I think that's pretty cool! Around here that meant they probably welded the spider gears lol.

When I had my 73 javelin in high school I had the little red lights down low behind the traction bars on a little switch for cruising the the cruise trip we used to have.. it was fun putting those on my Duster and sending a picture of them to my high school buddy...

Mine...

Looks like you lubed the floor jack wheels while you were a it.... :poke:
Yeah, I always try not to make a mess, but when I see it happening, if I try to fight it, it ends up three times what it would have been. lol

My buddy @vitamindart hooked me up on a great deal on some slant 6 headers. He even blasted um for me so all I had to do was degrease um, prime um, paint um and clear um. I used VHT Flame Proof primer, paint and clear. I used cast iron grey, since I already had it and was no extra money out. I think they turned out pretty good for an old redneck and a spray can.

could you have flipped that ring gear or is there a chamfer that's supposed to be on one side? I wish hanging press fit pistons was that easy!

Those look great. Keep us posted on how well the paint holds up.

Yes, I actually could have. I thought about it, but the new one was cheap. And yes, the factory ring gear was chamfered, but the new one was not.

Thanks. I think they came out good, too. I think I might go ahead and put them on Vixen pretty soon, instead of waiting for the new engine. I'm curious to see how much they add to an already established combination.

Once again it's time to parade my ignorance. First of all, do you know who made them? And, I don't see the usual triangle ring that lets you bolt the header to the downpipe. How do these connect to the rest of the exhaust?
