1966 Valiant Sedan V8 Swap (Victoria)

Mike, put a big copper washer between the head of the bolt and where it goes thru the 90 degree adapter. Then the thick cork washer between the adapter and block, the little one that goes over the bolt. Then dob both sides of the big round ring gasket with Ultra Black RTV. Throw that fiber gasket away that you use the big copper washer to replace. Them things crack after some heat cycles and there comes your oil leak. The washers below are the ones you want. I got a pack from McMaster-Carr. You will have to hone the ID out just a touch so they slide up the big bolt.View attachment 1716261050
Thank you JD, I screen shot your instructions and the washer pac.
I do appreciate your knowledge.

Should be done and ready for a road trip soon, this week or next.
It takes a lot of time , care and love to get one this far, but my friends here and my family has not gave up on me.

Cool Mike! Have you got the exhaust run yet?

OH YEAH, waiting for that first big BURNOUT.
Jeff Long drove her on a 40 mile trip and said she is ready, drives great and my gear selection in my sure grip 8 1/4 is perfect for this lite weight 66, moves very good. Yes there will be a video of that soon enough

Drove like a dream, no hands needed till a stiff hard wind out of the east hit me, 60 mph and rpms was steady at 18, 19 hundred. Just me and Victoria cruising at 65 on the road home.

904 heavy stack out of a truck, 2.9? Gears, could have been 2.89..I forget, but they are tall @RustyRatRod

Tony Fields would be so proud of and all the work you have done to make it a great beautiful ride, Joe

Right. Get a video. lol Also, just friendly advice. Separate those plug wires. They've been known to arc between each other tied together like that. Speakin from experience. lol

You need to bring it to Cruizin the Coast in Biloxi next week. You would have a ball riding around with over 10,000 others

That would be a great one to go to and enjoy, little early and thank you for the invite

Still no video, but I did pull the small restrictive breather of, wrinkle painted it today and now she can breath much better.
