1972 Dodge Colt

Did some fabrication work today.
I needed a good place for the MSD Coil that was neat and out of the way.
I used the passenger side motor mount boss and fabricated a steel plate mount.
I was working on the coil wire when I read the MSD note about solid core wire.
I am pretty sure I ran a solid wire (Taylor 8MM Silicon) wire from the coil to cap before.
But this new MSD has it in big letters, so I need to find a new wire.

I hope someday to have all that skill, I'm developing it but not there yet. Very nice job on that very awesome car.

That's pretty cool! Close to the stock location, too!

Very nice! I am pretty sure MSD has always said not to use solid core wires.
Yea maybe so, but my first MSD was used and I didn't have the instructions!
And I only used a solid coil wire, not the secondary leads.
And I was not worried about radio interference either!

I guess I am the idiot to think the pump that had not been used in 20+ years should be fine.
I did get my rear wheel back from Bogart this weekend, so at least I can start mounting the rear slicks, again.

Good progress for me anyway.
I have the rear circuits wired, fuel pump, running lights and brake lights.
Line Lock wired, and pressure switch for brake lights complete.
Front high and low beams, and running lights done.
MSD wired, power, coil, ign trigger done.

I have the gage lights, main power to the disconnect panel and remote start switches left.
Feels like I have run a few miles of wire doing this job.

Got a new shop dog last week. Still a puppy, so it's like a toddler in the house again.
Part Catahoula Leopard Dog and something else. He has webbed feet.
I hope he knows more about cars than he knows about using the bathroom outdoors!
Kota is his name, Dakota on his SSN Form for taxes.

Stan, is he like Ian Roussel's shop inspectors? Does he criticize everything you do? LMAO

Shop inspector not working out too well.
He is wearing me out, getting up early, going on walks, and sleeping.
No help what so ever on the Colt.

Wiring is almost finished.
Just some details and then on to more items to start the engine.
I got the rebuild kit for the Holley pump from Summit in the mail.
Holley glued the package over the gasket and three of the vanes fell out somewhere.
Funny thing, package doesn't say china.... Zero quality control.

Gotta love those dogs. I am recently retired and my two Shih Tzus love trying to take up all my time. It's ok. They are as deserving as anyone.

Cute dogs. Years ago I saw a lady with one on a leash, it's hair was very long and well kept. I jokingly commented that she had lost the handle to her dust mop, it made her very mad.

Got the 2 bump switches mounted and wired.
They make it so easy to start the engine or adjust the valves.
