1972 Dodge Colt

Started changing the pressure plate today.
I purchased a McLeod diaphragm style unit to reduce the clutch pedal effort.
Installing the trans with the hydraulic bearing is a little harder.
Kota decided a 37 pound dog laying on my chest would help the process.

Working through my punch list.
I got the interior door panels installed.
Floor aluminum back in.
Installed the oil pressure line from pump to gage.
Hooked up the distributor on a box with plugs and spun it over to check for spark.
Few more on the list and then....

Coming along quit nicely, Stan. That's badassary if ever there was.

Kota knows what's up too.

Stan, what are your ET and MPH goals for this car?

Rusty, after it's sorted out and if the engine ran like it use to, I hope to run a low 12 or high 11.
That is a 1/4 mile. I have never ran an 1/8 so that will be a little adjustment.
After I get it sorted out I am going to put the Webers on and see what that does.
What are you planning for the super head engine project?

Bled the brakes again, still one front caliper not doing what I want, but locks the rotor.
I will see when I put it on the ground.
Front wheels back on.
Went to Buc-ee's and got some ethanol free gas.

My friend Bob called today.
Great friend, I owe him a lot.

I did not want to do this, but I am worried about turning a tube.
And since these wheels have been back and forth to Bogart, I just said do it.
It's only money.

It's been difficult working with Bogart Wheels.
It been a long time getting the wheels fixed and back to me.
And they cost me even more to get their f-up fixed.
If they weren't the only source for the look I wanted, I could have saved money and TIME!

Finally back on the Colt.

Still working little details.
Did not pay attention to the dip stick tube.
#3 header tube goes right over the hole in the block.
Today I dug out a tube with a sharp bend and was able to trim and bend it to install.
I will weld a strap and bolt it in.
Filled the trans with gear oil.
New lock nuts on the front spindles.
Assembly lube on the push rods and roller rockers.
Oil in the block.

Valves are set.
Fuel cell is reinstalled.
And here is the lawn tractor battery that used to crank the engine over.
Now it's not a 13 to 1 engine, but I think it will allow me to start the engine.
Need to flush the cell and lines and then prime the system and carb checking for leaks.
