Newbie
I was scrolling through the internet one morning. Now I have a Mopar addiction.
I am 27 now, at the time I started this project I was 25. All my automotive knowledge came from the world of imports and I am learning as I go.
I want to make a build thread so I have a nice place to store where she came from and where she is at.
The car was listed for $2000 on the Herkimer/Utica NY Craigslist. I saw the ad, but I scrolled by thinking I don't have that kind of cash I already have 4 cars the wife would never allow it! But...... Then I was scrolling through my facebook and the same car happened to pull up on a buy/trade/sell page saying "I need this gone yesterday $1000 come take it!". So of course I called and said whats the real price? I have cash saved away for a Disney Trip and for that price I cant pass.
I drove two hours that night and became $700 poorer. I was the proud owner of a 1975 Dodge Dart SE. View attachment 11133737_698043523635455_1002490030844847764_n.jpg
The owner I bought it from had told me, "IDK much about it, its just sat in the driveway. I picked it up from a co-worker who got it running and had just payed to have the tranny built before he hit economic hard times. It was the co workers fathers and he had owned it for some time, and over the years slowly upgraded it". He did not know much about the vehicle (or at least didn't disclose to me much other than it is automatic and a V8 )

I ran the VIN when I got home and the car was suppose to be a 225 /6 and a 904 tranny.

Now I was interested to find out what is in the car? Apparently somewhere along the way she ended up with a Punched out 318 donated from a rotted 1968 'Cuda with a Hurst Floor ratchet shift 727 mounted to her. The tranny has a B&M 2,000 Stall, and a shift kit. The motor was in the car. It started but it barely ran. We drove it on the trailer (barely), rolled it off and then parked it for the winter. I could tell it had performance parts on the car but I did not know exactly what they were.
Fast forward to spring I could not stand the color so I bought the cheapest paint I could find, tape, and news paper.
She slowly started looking like she does today View attachment 11050221_711853402254467_7858197743920925017_n.jpg
Next it was time to work on making it run right. The car had a points style ignition, and a rats nest of wiring under the dash.

After getting all the gauges working I put in a carpet and seats, I took the rear seat belts out of a 1999 Impreza and Installed them for my kids car seats.

The car still never ran very well so I started re thinking the entire ignition and replaced the Coil, Plugs, Wires, Ballast Resistor, went with an electronic Dizzy and used this diagram I found on here.

Boom! Now she starts first turn, and seems to purr like a kitten.
I was afraid to put it on the road in the condition it was in so I ordered all new Calipers, Brake lines, Rotors, Wheel Bearings, Ball Joints, Tie Rods, and Belts. All stuff that should have been done years ago! Now she should be safe!
I was so proud, I wanted to see what she could do. So I putted out to the end of the driveway, gave her a few quick rev's thinking, YEAH THIS IS MUSCLE CAR STUFF and I punched the gas.
She spun the tires for about .02 seconds and SNAP it sounded like the earth shattered behind me?!?
Well... It turns out 7.25 Rear ends suck.

Now I push it into the garage and she sits again while I convince the wife as to why we should keep putting money into this project that has still yet to see the road!
It sits for another few months while I wrangle up a 31 spline Ford 8.8 out of a 1993 Cobra Mustang with Strange Axles, 4.11's, a mini spool, and disc brakes.
A couple nights, A few trips to the local driveshaft guys in Syracuse, and a small amount of fab later...

The phone that had all of the fab, and install pics of course was destroyed and I lost all those pictures, but for the most part it was a perfect fit, just had to fab perches a little to make it work with the stock Mopar design.
Ran out of available attachments, I will finish to where I am at in a reply.

Attached is my broken 7.25 spider gear, might not be noticeable, but it is missing and rounded off like half the teeth.
