Does it take turns as well? How much difference without it handling a curve? I know that really doesn't matter in the 1/4 mile but I know you drive that car too. I thought about putting one on my
Mine but if rides better without it I may just save my money.
It drives and takes the corners as good as the million Dusters that came from the factory without one. No issues for me. I don't set up cones in a tight figure 8 and race through them... LOL. But I couldn't stand the jarring. My '74 was a much better driver, and didn't come with a sway bar. It was a massive difference for the better for me - but that's my personal preference.

Did you say something about not having it aligned or something?

yes, I rebuilt the drivers side. New upper/lower control arm bushings, strut rod bushings, and ball joints. I need to do the passenger side. So yes, it needs a front end alignment. Should gain another tenth... :)

100% just spitballing here but is it possible that the sway bar exaggerated a bad alignment issue? I have a hard time wrapping my head around taking the sway bar off and gaining control....

It wasn't about gaining control. It had everything to do with how it was "jarring" to the car when I went down the road. Now did the bad alignment amplify it? I don't know. But, some roads have what I'll refer to as "frost bumps" where the highway pushes up a little. My '74 goes over them and you don't feel them. My '76 felt like I was going mini speed bumps. Now that I removed the sway bar, it goes over those like they are not there. Hope I made sense.. LOL

Woke up this morning..... Thought was to go out and tare the heads off, and tomorrow put the mags on. Then a thought hit me..... Old school looks, old school build with Mag heads??? Not sure how I feel about it...… :realcrazy::realcrazy:

Excuses, Excuses.....

Says the man sitting on the couch.

To me the solution is obvious.

You don’t know how you feel about it?
Slap those heads on there....... that should help you decide how you feel about it.

If the car goes a lot better, I think you’ll feel just fine about it.

Change heads and put the LA valve covers on it. Paint the heads and intake the same color as the parts you take off.

Using LA valve covers and painting it all the same color was the plan. I can be day to day. We'll see how I feel in the morning... LOL.

I'd be shocked if the car didn't move better with the mag heads. The performance was not in question in my mind, it was if I wanted magnum parts under this hood... LOL.
P.S. - this Duster may not be my fastest Duster when Jaba and I race. I may be racing him with my dark blue car.... time will tell. I still have a junkyard build (literally junk yard) 360 I want to do. I have the pieces - block from the scrap metal pile, mag heads/intake, MP cam, and the rotating assembly from another 360 headed to the junkyard.... LOL Doesn't that sound like fun??? :D

I keep thinking your avatar would look better with a tunnel ram sticking out of the hood :)

I agree. I even picked one up, an Offenhauser, at the Indy swap meet. I just need to get to work on it. With three sons into Mopars, there never seems to be time to work on mine.My middle son and I are currently building a 360 for his D100. That is not a terrible problem to have, though!

LOL.... see the contrast in these two post of yours???

In my defense, I had just finished match weighing my son's pistons and rods and decided I wasn't doing anything else until I ate lunch! I am a man of large appetite. But, yeah I have sat on the couch a lot lately.... Now, don't you have some magnum heads to put on? Get to work!!!

Did I mention that I can be day to day??? LOL..... Hood scoop time.... but work before play. New wheel bearing for the 'stang, the a scoop for the Duster :)
