I just received my set of manifolds and I am glad I went this route. I plan to drive my car a lot so I didn't want the problems associated with headers. Treblig was very helpful and tries hard to get these to you asap. Very cool!

Thanks DusterDude!!! As far as the paint question you asked about, I'll post some paint can pics later after the sun comes up and I get my kid to school. I know it's a high heat primer and a high heat top coat.

Thanks,
Gil

DusterDude, Here are the pics I promised. One can is the high heat primer and the other is high heat top coat. Try your best to follow the curing (heat cycle) instructions to properly cure the paint so it lasts a long time under the hood. I bought the paint at Orielly's.

Enjoy your manifold(s).

Gil, do you know anyone that has used the drivers side 340 manifold on an early A body? I don't have mine installed as of yet, but it looks like the exit flange is turned the wrong way. I think the exhaust pipe will hit the torsion bar or the frame. Looks like it will be very close. What do you think?

Tom, according to this thread, they should fit if you don't have power steering:
http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=243660&highlight=340+manifolds+early

Here is a pic of the 340 manifold under my Barracuda. I had to buy a small section of super tight radius pipe to clear the torsion bar. Sometimes you have to be creative!!

PS - I'm assuming you're working on an early A because I don't remember you saying what car you were going to use the manifolds with. I see an early A in your avatar but many members have numerous Mopars.

If i can find a piece of short radius pipe like yours, i may be able to make it work. I am indeed running p/s, but the torsion bar seems to be the most in the way. I'll have the engine / trans and k member out soon and i'll be able to get at it easier. This thing turns to the driver side and forward just a little. My original turns straight back just a little. Will let you know how it works out.

There are a few companies that sell the super tight radius U and J bends. you only have to buy one. Vibrant sells a 3.5" radius 2 1/4" pipe and Hooker also sells the same radius even cheaper than Vibrant. I've even seen 2 1/2" pipe formed into a donut that look to have a 2 1/2" radius for only $23, you can see it here:

[ame="http://www.ebay.com/itm/Mandrel-Bend-Donut-Exhaust-Intake-Mild-Steel-Turbo-Pipe-2-5-2-5in-Weld-System-/301333827084?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item4628e54e0c&vxp=mtr"]Mandrel Bend Donut Exhaust Intake Mild Steel Turbo Pipe 2 5" 2 5in Weld System | eBay[/ame]

I used a 3 1/2" radius piece of pipe.

Hi looks like I am coming in a bit late to this so I am not sure if you have any left, but I am looking for a set of your 340 and 360 magnum manifolds for my 66 Dart (with a 71 340 no p/s) along with a matching set of the flared down pipes and adapters. I am in Canada at T2W5X9.

Just got a bunch more sand blasted and ready for paint/cure. I also have "flared" stub pipe 2 1/4" pipe and flange adapters for the Dakota, 360 passenger and 340 driver for sale.

Currently have three orders (with cash deposits) for 340/Dakota and 360 mag manifolds sets. Running low on stock but still have a few left. These are either 340 driver manifolds with the 2 1/4" exhaust hole and or the Dakota driver manifold which has been "machined" out to match the 340 (2 1/4" exhaust hole) or the 360 magnum passenger manifold which has also been "machined" out to 2 1/4". I don't believe you can buy a better flowing small block cast iron manifold anywhere else that has been sand blasted, checked for cracks, primed with high heat primer, painted with high heat paint and cured under 130-150 degree heat for 12 hours to make the paint last as long as possible under your hood. I also sell the 2 1/4" "flared" exhaust pipe stub for those who like to make there own exhaust system. these stubs come with the correct flange adapter to connect the stub to the manifold.

Gil,

Do you (or anyone) have pics of the high flow Dakota installed in a 64-66 A body?

I saw pics of the pass side but only from underneath and also the 340 mag with the J bend dog leg in it. I'd like to see the fenderwells and steering box clearence of the Dakota on the drivers side...Just so I know what it'll look like and if i can knock down any spots on say the steering box housing to get a little extra finger room.

Just noticed that Treblig is Gilbert spelled backwards, lol

Thanks!

Bobby

Now don't go telling everybody about my name!!! LOL

There are many, many pics of early A bodies with the Dakota installed. I don't have much time right now but I will post the links later. I also have an EARLY 340 manifold Pre-1970 which has more clearance than the later 340 manifolds (use the link below), go to the link below and you'll see the early and late 340 comparison in last page of thread. Supposedly these will fit an early A. Wish you lived closer we could find out. Either way I'll find and post the links to the pics you want to see.
