If it has tits, it's a liability.
Stay away from YouTube, nothing but garbage.
When I bought my heads at 40% off, I also bought the intake for 40% off. In fact, I bought 2 intakes. The question is do I wait for the sale or get them now with the free air gap style intake? You can never have to many intakes, but it's catch 22. Full price and intake or 30-40% off and no intake. Things to ponder.
I swear it was around the 12th of September so we're only talking 30 days. Or at least I would try and wait that out at the very least. Two things to take into consideration one is the intake will be 30% off as well. Also the intake is the one thing that I'm going to buy next time if possible because it mounts also to a Magnum engine if you ever wanted to do a magnum swap. Magnum engines in the Pick-n-Pull here are under $200 with a 6-month warranty. Think about a 360 magnum in your car and merely needing only a good intake manifold to make it happen for the most part...The question is do I wait for the sale or get them now with the free air gap style intake? I'm wondering that myself. I'd like to pick up a set of their 179cc iron Magnum heads for my truck and I'm waiting for that potential sale so I can scoop them up for 200 n something each.Depends on how much you need them in the near term.
Just because they have had a sale on them in the past is no guarantee they will in the future.
True just because they've had a sale every single year doesn't mean they'll have one this year LOL.. I've got an intake manifold waiting in my cart will see if I can pull the trigger. I'm willing to wait...Depends on how much you need them in the near term.

I had thought about thay as well, but heads prone to crack always shyed me awayI swear it was around the 12th of September so we're only talking 30 days. I like those heads you got. These are the 360 heads I quoted to get fixed. View attachment 1715572999 View attachment 1715573000
If I did $200 Magnum swap from the Pick-n-Pull with a 6-month warranty I wouldn't even take the heads off. likely my wife's 98 Durango has cracks and so does my 98 ram 2500... What we don't see doesn't kill us...I had thought about thay as well, but heads prone to crack always shyed me away
Those look like a bare set of heads that have been sitting for awhile and have flash rusted. I can imagine any shop would want a good amount to bring them back to snuff... Know if you had a known running set of heads that had everything together and you lap the valves and put some new seals in you could probably get away with running them for a few months... but that would only work so long if the valve guides are shot...These are the 360 heads I quoted to get fixed. This wouldn't be a bad deal and for an additional 150-200 bucks they can cleanup the bowls.what about the Aeromaster racing heads that INDY sells? $599 for a reman cast head $699 if you upgrade to 2.02... i just found these

Each???...This wouldn't be a bad deal and for an additional 150-200 bucks they can cleanup the bowls.
I'm living in the past, it used to be 500 a pair.Each???...
well I read that link and no where did it seem to say whether it was each or not..I'm living in the past, it used to be 500 a pair.
It's probably sold individual now at 500. lol maybe
I like those heads you got.
As for the sm mags...There are a lot of mixed up opinions about the origins, what they are based on. Stock mag port volume is smaller than a j head...so why anyone would think they are a basic mag copy meanwhile at 179cc is beyond me. Stock mag heads are crackers, 302 as well. Real bad.
Problem...?...I have a set of bare sm magnum heads.....look like bare magnum heads.....dark in color....
Have all the hardware to put them together...just never have.....
I think the problem with their Black Friday sale....some people are just going to wait to see if it happens again instead buy stuff now......
You should be able to see the diff 'inside the port' between a stock 154cc and a 179cc sm mag. The 2.02 arrowheads I tested long ago that had no porting did 213cfm intake and 152 exh. Fwiw.I have a set of bare sm magnum heads.....look like bare magnum heads.....dark in color....

The High Performance EQ Heads (also known as the Iron Ram or "CH318B" heads) have not been available since about September 2019. Beware when buying the "CH318B replacement heads". They are very durable but NOT A PERFORMANCE HEAD! Don't be mis-led.
That's why we quit selling them. Indy is coming out with a replacement LA head in the near future, why I don't know...From the Hughes site regarding the new replacement magnum heads:
