64 Dart

You may want to look into Denso alternators. They're small, internally regulated, and charge very well at idle. AndyF makes some slick mounting brackets for them.

Do you have any photos with the weight on the tires back on the ground?
Also, are you running rear sliders, or stock-type shackles?

I love how this car is coming together!

oh thank you so much!! Glad i asked!

i run just stock shackles, i’ll post photos on Sunday. Also i got Polyurethane bushings and they are sitting to tight, i barely can twist shackles when springs are not installed. Thinking about finding better bushings, i’ll look up into sliders may be

Where are you buying your wire and other electrical supplies? I'm about to embark on wiring my 66 Dart. It's a daunting task for sure. Looks like you've got a good start though!

That's it? What a **** tease. We need more video!!! It sounds like a nasty little beast.
Give me a second hahaha
I want to hook up radiator today/tomorrow and gauges and put more fluids. After then i can run it for longer and rev it up!

was fighting with leaks all day, got it to 0 leaks so far!
But i’m excited to hear it run after all this half a year of crazy work!

Still needs timing set
My 90 degree oil adapter is pissing
And my brake fittings are pissing pretty bad too!!

sorry for not posting, was working my *** off on this car!
Just set up caltracks and riding heights today, still have a list of 20 things, but here are some really soft lunches and a burn out!
She runs and burns out!

Took her to PIR on Wednesday, did 3 passes
None of passes got any traction, will try to get tire pressure down to 13psi next time and readjust my caltracks, still have no idea how to do it right.
i need to be not slower then 8.95 in a pro class.
Still trying to get used to trans brake, my reaction time is just embarrassing now. I’m in .250s when i used to be in .020s
Best time was 9.10 (1/8 mile) with a terrible 60’ and i ran out of gas in the end of the pass!

but with a goal not to leak fluids and do 3 passes, i would call it a success!

oh and i got water in the oil! I think it’s a bad intake gasket.

thanks everyone for help!!!

Yeah man. Great job on this build! You'll get it sorted out soon enough. I'm just amazed how quick you got that thing on the road. Go for you man - be proud of yourself!

So 2 passes were 9.50 and 9.70
The pass when i ran out of gas was 9.10! Turns out i’m running too rich, spark plugs were black too, rejected my carb, readjusted caltracs.
Water pump bolts were not tightened all the way, changed the oil.
Waiting for the next race day.
Got further plans, want to find different radiator, and weld up springs, so i can run a hood, then i’ll try to figure out sealed scoop and the i can cut out splash guards and redo my headers and exhaust.

Also i’m in a pro class with a trans break,
The goal is to run faster than 8.95, otherwise they’ll kick me out from a pro!
I hope i’ll break 9s next Wednesday!
Grateful for the PIR race community! Great people! Grateful for forabodiesonly! Thank you!

@Sergey, you still sorting this thing out, or what? We need an update!! haha

spun a bearing, waiting on my 408, actually just got dart back in a garage on 3rd of July, want to run with a hood, so working on the conversion to spring hood hinges, worked all summer with no days off. But will start working on it again. May be polish the crank and will put magnum back.

will keep you updated.
Want to put a chevy style radaitor, so it’ll fit better and want to cut out splash guards/inner fenders to fit headers better.
Also want to make tubular brackets for radiator and fenders, just picked up 1 1/4 tubing today

I think I figured out the spring from later a body, will cut bolts tomorrow morning, find washers and test it
