66 Dart Owners thread

-
heres my 66 270 trim package. originally a 225/904 car, bought in Pennsylvania new and ended up in illinois in the 80s, and montana in the early 90s. i dropped in an 87 police 318 (factory 360 top end) and matching lockup 904. soon to get a disc front end and big bolt pattern posi 8.25 axle to match.

Can you say SLEEPER ???????? Nice combo and it should be a blast to drive.
Thanks for posting Durge. tmm

here's my 66 dart convertible

like the title said "on tires" again after 2 years :D I still have to do the rest, motor brakes wiring top carpet ect. the list goes on. the Darts on tires again after 2 years of hanging out on a dolly cart or a rotisserie. It feels good to be able to push it around to where I need it.

yeah. I'm going to drop it down a couple of inches. I didn't think about it when I ordered the new leaf springs and told then I wanted super heavy duty 6 leafs in there and 2 inch raise. whew sure does put it up in the air don't it. might take a while to sag don't ya think!

but it does let 275/60 14's fit under the car in the rear.

I can just imagine what it'll look like after I get the engine and tranny in to get that nose down, Tail light will be pointing toward the sky! so lowering it is going to happen.

Looks good and the rear will sag a little. Those xhd's would be enough all by themselves. I replaced my rears the first winter I owned my car. I ordered them from ESPO. The gal on the phone asked me whether I had 5 or 6 leaf springs and because my car was locked up in the storage garage I guessed at 5 leaf. Guess what! They were 6 leaf. I installed them anyway. They have settled a bit over a few years but eventually I will replace them with the 6 leaf units. I like the look of the early A's when they set up in the air a bit. tmm

If you all open up the links there is more pictures on most of them.
And yes most of them are from past auctions but just cool to see what these cars have sold for.

The one selling for $35,000 and $40,000 is my old car. It is a true D-Dart. I heard that the guy did sell it -- eventually. I'm sure it was sold for more then the $40,000 bid

The VIN doesn't show any difference between 2bbl and 4bbl. You would have to look at the fender tag or broadcast sheet to find that code....32.

Im not stupid. All the id on the car was used to determine and professionally appraise the car. I paid enough money to have it done correctly. Next question ?

Just trying to correct wrong info so someone doesn't think they can determine 2bbl or 4bbl by just the VIN. I guess my next question would be......why are you so defensive? Nobody here knows everything. I've been playing with Mopars for over 40 years (both personally and professionally) and I learn something new just about every day.

heres my 1966 dart conv still has the slant six drive train but I just started on it. no hurry

Cruiser3042, i saw your post and thought in my head, "FINALLY! someone else has the genius idea to use an 80s "fuzz" motor!!!" i love mine! its so snappy and has plenty of poop to get my 66 to go down the road in a hurry. one of the best 100 bucks i ever spent, and i got the trans, rear axle, front spindles, calipers, rotors, and prop valve too!
