who needs brakes they just slow you down. Lol

How much unsprung weight did you drop from your Dart? Could be better than 100 lb's between the 4 link and disc brake swap.

You know what, I never even put any thought to that! Good point!

mopardude318Looks terrific Louis!!! You work fast!!! Would love to see it in person!

I feel like it is taking FOREVER. We will meet up again someday for sure. I am headed to SF again on Sunday driving by your place. As usual it will be a fast trip dropping my son off for another year of college.

man we should plan a race day in sacremento.once I get my car up and running. As I am planning on heading up there to see friends then anyway. It should be a good trip

This is a teaser............I only had about 25 minutes today. I found the brake lines on my parts shelf and installed them. I also got my measurements for the Drop Down hose which I will order in stainless to match and I will be ordering new E Brake cables also along with getting some brake line so I can bend everything up and get this thing on the ground!

This place http://store.controlcables.com/servlet/StoreFront is alot cheaper than LOKAR for your custom length cables. Should be around $60.00 for both E Brake cables. Lokar is around $80.00 Each. If you guys know of somewhere else please share the contact!!!

man you are a tease. You have tires, wheels, and lugnuts right? Bolt em on and set her down. Your killing me here. I'm waiting on tires to show up for my wheels then it's time to measuer to cut the axle. And we will be off and running on mine.

MD,
Im so glad you are this far in front of me and are posting these pics. I have been thinking about the necessary route for the dual exaust and how all of that will work with the 4link. Do you have a plan?
Andrew

andrew I have contimplating the same thing. I am thinking of going in front of the rear tire but not 100% sure yet.

I am going to dump the exhaust at the axle. If you are deleting your fuel tank you can do whatever you want.

When narrowing the rearend and moving the Lower Links in 4 or so inches for the MINI TUB and bigger tires, you will loose the ability to run full exhaust out the back of the car. You can run the exhaust all the way to the bumper if you don't mini tub or do a relocation of the lower link bars.

Well you want to know what. I used BIGGER ends that are 3" bushings all the way around. The RMS kit or a kit that was built JUST LIKE IT with the same size everything you could possibly run the full exhaust when moving everything in and the MINI TUB. The Bushings they use on the lower links at the axle are 1.5" and 3" at the front hanger. Then they use 1.5" on both ends of the upper link. Maybe it is 2" bushings. I do know for sure they use 1" bars though instead of the 1.5" Bars I used.

Can't wait to see this thing on the ground, to see how low it is.

I'm collecting pieces to do triangulated 4 link on my '71 300. The original minitub had it sitting way too high, hoping this type of setup can help me stuff huge tires under it and keep it low.

This IS so COOL, I too can't wait to see it on the ground. Man you sure are doing an out standing job keep up the good work and stay healthy......AND MORE PICS!!!!!! lol

I went to Napa and got some brake line and a new kit for making, cutting and flaring brake line tube. It was pretty darn easy with the right tools! I had a cheapo Harbor Freight kit that is absolutely JUNK and it is going in the trash!

I need to add some hold down clips that will attach the brake line to the 3rd member in 2 or 3 places. I thought I had them but you know how that goes, back to the hardware store!

looks great man. The set you got looks alot like mine. But I bet your works better mine is a really old snap on kit and it's about worn out. It's hit or miss if it will work, guess I need a new one. Keep up the good work your keeping me inspired on my project

Well it is finally on the ground! I still need to order the Drop brake line that goes from the shock tower to the Distribution block on the housing. I will be ordering a braided stainless one with the hardware to drop it off of that needs to be welded on along with the parking brake cables I explained earlier. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh and I need to make a NEW main brake line from the front of the car to the drop line.

man that is one sweet looking car. I'm jelouse right now.......that is until I can get mine to the point yours is

A little hillbilly engineering trick for brake line bending. I use 1/4" and 3/8" sockets held in a vise to make bends. Works really well.

That thing looks BAD! Nice work!

How's it bounce on the rear.
