73 dart sport project

I would buy it if I wanted twins!

Seriously though...changing projects doesn't make them get easier, find you time to do them or make it cheaper. It all comes back to you getting out there and doing it.

That's not being mean, it's just facts. I understand you have a lot on your plate with serving your country also:supz:

So here i am finally home from Afghan and the boring army classes! So i roll the old dart out to go threw all my parts (moms getting mad on all the boxes) I clear the whole car out and start looking around. Need few more inside pieces now and I only found a corner of the build sheet under rear seat :(
Floors are near perfect little surface rust that I will clean up and one hole. Looks like a knife hole!! Idk very strange. Then mother nature came to kick my butt and rain! Had to tuck her back in for the day :)

Also I am stripping the car back down and sending out for paint when I get back for good in AUG. My engine guy cant wait to get hands on my motor. Best car is be builds racing engines for circle track and drag racers. He going to cut me a low or no payment on labor or he will want to steal it for day who knows, I will let him work the magic there:)

nice project car and glad your home safe...mike:happy9:

Glad to see you didn't sell the Dart Sport. That's going to be a cool car once done. What colour are you thinking of going with it? Keeping the stripe?

Well I am thinking going back to the orange with the white strip or plum crazy with black strip

So what is the trick to putting in the 440 with out having to cut the hood and installing a scoop?

So what is the trick to putting in the 440 with out having to cut the hood and installing a scoop?

My brother did it on his, and to put it simple, you can't unless you use a very shallow intake.

With the air-gap, he has just enough room to run either a foam triangle or a short, small chrome open element, neither of which is a good option. Both are against the hood when closed.

He's going to get another hood and cut it for a scoop.

I didn't have to do anything to hood to get it to fit, but then again you can see my hood springs are bad. I will be home soon and its on. I will get some action pics posted soon as I can.

Ok so small update so far. I been super busy redoing a bedroom and trying to find a job. I stripped, cleaned and primed the rear end housing and center section. I gutted most of the interior so far. Floors look great i sprayed some stripper on the floors and should be back at it again tomorrow.

ok so i did a quick little job. Not the best job but it will keep the rust away. Sealed all the seams up and primed it. Put a new body plug kit into.

De sided floors need something little more.So I ordered some heat reducer and some carpet for the fold down area behind the back seats. Its a low budget deal so hopefully this makes it look better :)

Well lets hope this one gets a response. I finally got the last of the heat liner in. I ordered the wrong stuff to finish. It was the hood liner instead so it has the hushmat label on it but it will work. I got the carpet back in but to late for a pic. I also glued some carpet to the tray I guess you can call it that goes behind the seat. Pics aren't to good but I think it looks great for doing it for the first time.

Not bad!!

Coming along nicely.

Cant wait to see it in action...I love Dart Sports.

I had a Dart Sport that would do the wickedest burnouts!...good times.

Thanks I am trying my hardest here with limited tools, money, and a decent work area. This being my first project I am learning as I go and getting ideas from others projects. Young gun at work look out:p

Thanks. Ya its in really good shape few dents here and there. It came from Oklahoma so just surface rust is all I found

Not a whole lot to report I was asking a few questions and I was looking at buying a different car but that didn't work out so back to work. I got the pan put back in and the little flip down door. I covered the pan that goes on the back seat today. Plan tomorrow is get front seat mocked up.

not much to report. Still looking for a painter. I have motor all ready to come out so I can finish stripping parts off the car to send to paint once I find someone. I finally got my rear end back put all new brakes on that with some new lines and its looking good if I say so.
