73 dart sport project

Nice ride snake, glad you decided to keep it..have you decided on a color yet? orange and white sounds good..is that the factory color for your car?
 
its suppose to be red the Southern sun just beat it up so it looks orange. My daily driver is red so I am not going back to original color. I am still fond of plum crazy and I like orange. I might just stick to the mopar colors and go plum crazy with a black strip
 
Well I have the engine, trans, brake booster and all that fun stuff pulled. Looks like she will be ready to head to paint soon. Garage is to small to take pics but I will try to get some up when we load her up :)
 
Ok well I got a quick tease pic today. Firewall holes are all covered. She should be going to body shop in week or two so hit the new metal up with some primer. It is MI, stuff rust fast :glasses7:

well weather was really nice to I decided to do some more work before it goes to paint. Took both bumpers off, both fenders, and all the front parts. I stripped all the metal under where fenders goes and everything on front. I undercoated fender wells and put a top coat of bed liner over that. Primed all the front end and hit it with with a flat black. It turned out ok it will be just a driver anyway not a show car :cheers:
Still need to remove hood and hinges to make way for fiber glass hood and light weight hinges. still need to replace radiator support to, last owner pulled car with it :/

I am really just tooling around waiting for the body shop, they said it was suppose to be in there end of January. This weekend I will finished coating the back side of fenders and then go back to stripping undercoating. The way I see it the longer they wait the more work I will do and the less money they get....
 
Good progress, taking undercoat off sucks eh? i didnt enjoy that part lol, good to see you working on the Dart keep the picks coming :happy1:
 
thanks and ya it does suck big time, even more that I have to do it on my back so I do little here and there.

ya it showed up to the body shop i forgot to look at it but he said it was a beautiful hood so I guess I will get a surprise when i go look at car in primer:blob:

I got it from AAR. All i heard was good things from them so I pulled the trigger with them. I will get a pic up soon as i can might be few weeks
 
Nice project you have there. My 1st decent Mopar was a '73 340 4 speed Dart Sport, unfortunately the original drivetrain was gone by the time I bought it (1990). I would like to get that car back some day, I know where it is, just a matter of talking him out of it.
 
Just go rough him up a bit and he will sell it back :p
I would like to go manual but I had no idea how to covert it. Oh well maybe on my next build
 
who says Christmas can't come in May was wrong! Well kinda. had a busy day picking up my parts today. I got my seats back all i have to do is paint seat tracks and the covers for sides and I got my beefed up trans back :)

The seats look great, who done them for you?
 
its a place thats called auto interiors. I went in there three times and every time there was some muscle car in there getting seats redone. It only took them a day to do the rears :)

slow. This place took forever to start but I called to put foot in butt last week so he said they just started. I will go look when its stripped for pictures
 
Nice ride bro. I just started my 1st mopar build its a 73 dart sport too. I like the stance what kind of springs and what size tires u got on the back?
