Lol, All that stuff is a MYTH. Matter of fact most everything I have heard or read online is a MYTH regarding anything to do with what can and can't be done with these cars.
I use to run it down the FWY before the rear end swap with 3.91 gears @ 3650 RPM for 30-40 min straight. Not even letting off the throttle. It is in Happy zone. 175* Temps, 60 PSI Oil Pressure. Outside temps 95*+ , Wide Band 13.8-14.1
It is a Stroker too with a Solid Roller...... Ladder Bar & Spool. More than 700 HP on the Juice that Rev's over 7K RPM with a stock block & a 904..... None of this is possible per everything I have read and has been preached.....It should have blew up a long time ago.

We should start calling you "the mythbuster"! lol Isn't it funny how many myths are out there? Same thing happened to me. Guys told me when I started rebuilding "You won't be able to run pump gas without pinging", "You can't drive a high stall converter like that on the street", "You can't run a spool on the street without problems. You won't be able to turn corners well, you'll break an axle, blah blah blah...". Funny, haven't seen any of those problems...yet! (knock on wood) And then when I see those guys again, they'll ask how the car is coming along. I'll say "Got it going toward the end of last year, drove it around town mostly and made it to the track once". "What'd it run?" "First pass wasn't great. Spun, let out, got back in it and ran a 12.06 or something" "Really? You let out and still ran 12's?" "Yep, next pass I eased it off the line more and ran a 10.99. That was with the street tires, timing set for 91 octane, and no carb tuning. I just took it out and ran it." "10's? Really??? Have you ever raced before?" "Nope. First time out." *dumbfounded look*. I just grin and shrug my shoulders. Cracks me up to see the look on their faces. I suppose I'm enjoying proving their theories wrong as well Louis.
For reals man. I'm tempted to fly out there and bring all the recording devices I have to see this thing and make some videos!
Louis what you need to get is some TIME SLIPS!!!
Yeah I know I'm a wussy.
I'll put 5.56's in and haul *** to Vegas at 6k. I don't give a Fck!!
Yep, i used to drive 75 miles from Simi to LACR with 4.88s and drive home slicked up with 10.5 psi. in the tires.

Come on now.... I don't know of anyone who actually drives their old car like I do with a set up anywhere near what mine is..... When I say drive, I mean drive the wheels off of it. Not from parking lot to parking lot, waxing the POS! Lol
Chris Turbodart68 got me going on all of the "Myth Buster Stuff" , He once told me there are people that talk **** and people that actually do it!
I am happy to say I am the latter!
just spent 2 hours reading this thread in full ... Love the time you have put into it ... gave me a ton of idea's how/what to do to my daily driven 73 scamp. The battle stance is great on this ... dont change it.
*cheerstoyou*
Took a good long break from here. I will be back to working on the car and upgrading it some more.
I just bought the new Fitech efi system from here.
http://fitechefi.com/default.asp.pg-Products
I picked up the Go EFI-8 Power Adder Plus. It is a self tuning unit and will support & control NOS, Timing and has a 2.5 Bar Map sensor for Boost. It will support any type of fuel. E85, Pump, Race Fuel, alcohol or moonshine. Whatever you want. Says it is good for 1200HP worth of fuel.
After I get this installed and set on e85 I will be adding a Supercharger of some sort. I found out about torqstorm from the guys at Fitech today..... They have a dual and single SC kit for Small & Big Block Mopar's.

I will also be converting my NOS over to e85 as well and bringing the hit down to about 50-75 when the SC is installed. They say NOS is just about double the jetting when on Boost.
Louis, is this the twin turbo bottom end, underneath this established firepower?
Wow! Can't wait to see this. 1000 wheel should get you in the 8s easily. Might want to stock up on some tires while you're at it. Don't think they will last too long with that setup. Also curious to see a blow through with that type efi.
Hey Louis I'm gonna get the 1200hp fi tech system and I'm gonna try running it with a 200 shot of nos on 91 octain what do you think?
Well I finally finished my Smoker build. Just needs to be sand blasted and painted. I built everything from scratch including the wheels. Only thing I didn't build was the compressor tank! Lol
I would do a separate fuel system for the NOS and use VP110 in a little separate fuel cell. You can see how I did mine somewhere in this thread. 91 in the main tank is fine. That is how I have mine now.
In the instructions they recommend a separate fuel system. There is a loop wire in the EFI system that gets hooked to the NOS Trigger wire that will fine tune the A/F Ratio on the NOS Hit using the Injectors. You set the Target A/F Ratio on the NOS Hit in the set up screens. Pretty cool feature.
That is what I will do so one gsl 392 walbro to run the fuel injection and another 392 for the nos hit .
Great looking smoker.
I just got back from a trip to the BC coast with 150 lb of salmon, halibut, ling cod, and snapper. Planning to do some smoking. Got me a simple smoker that has temp control, an upgrade from my Big Chief. Nothing like what you have but it will do.
I also like to do old fashioned Mennonite farmer sausage. Grew up with it and there's nothing like it.
