A-Bodies...Big Motors / New Hemi Duster - FINAL ASSEMBLY

Spent all day with the help of John and Weeb getting Dans Duster to run right....

Hint...don't buy the Year One replacement spark plug wires....they are junk right out of the box.

Ended up with the 750cfm Elderbrock....with the "needs the fuel" springs, meter rods and jets
 
Probably the only way to calm down after this fiasco is to end every
sentence utterred for the next week with "Unless there's beer".

Slight setback today. After Denny took car to get aligned, he started to drive back to G2 and heard a PING! Not good as fan blade made contact with the corner of radiator. After removing rad and taking it to rad shop, they determined it was warped slightly. Soooooo called Summit and a new one has been ordered. Just another delay, no biggie!!
 
I guess that 6 grand hole-shot torqued the motor over a tad ???....like Dan said....no biggie (at least I wasn't in reverse).
 
I was hoping not to "hurt" anything....I want to leave the big stuff for you break....in

really give it the beans, a slight interference issue has reared it's head.
This is with new spool conversion mounts on a beefed stock K-frame
and with a custom torque strap. Bring on the slicks and pinion snubber!

I like a man that shows the problems as well as all of the good stuff.

Not my K...

Schumaker bisquit mounts w/ torque limiter (apparently NOT enough limit)..... just barely caught ONE blade, but that's all it took

Did drive expert after toe in was set
 
Yeah....I'm a purist you know....

We can make a slight adjustment with a flat radiator and be back in the race
