A-Bodies...Big Motors / New Hemi Duster - FINAL ASSEMBLY

-
Oh yes, for sure. I talked to a guy running a Hemi 68 Charger (he was at the bar tonight) with the same hei set up as the Barracuda and he said for the street I could go 45 easy. 40 at the track. He finished 2nd in the pump gas drags a few years back so taking advice from him is A O K.

First name Jim, last name starts with P. Don't like to post full names. If you see the car it has a be cow catcher scoop on it...or it did. He is always at the Nats.

I'm guessing Jim P? If so, he knows how to make a Mopar run. His '68 Charger is the baddest street car around the Pittsburgh area (8 second regularly driven STREET car). I have known Jim for many years. He is a nice guy to boot.

EDIT - I didn't see JB's post when I posted mine (with his full name). Jim's name has been plastered over the interweb before, mainly for his Pump Gas wins....

Just returned from the track..........

2 runs.. first one was 12.34 at 113 mph or something, I forgot to bring home the time slip (its still in the car). The second pass which was the second pass in my life at a drag strip was a little better. I could have gotten it in the 10's with no problem but I was booted because I didnt have a cage.
11.50 and under you need a cage....

Mark,

It was good you left when you did anyways. We waited almost an hour for them to cleanup a mes on the starting line. I only got one more pass. I wasn't super happy with my runs last night but I guess I gotta relearn my clutch setup. The MPH is there, just not the 60'.

Great seeing you & Don last night.

That car is pretty quick! Did you use the trans brake? There is probably more in that 60' if you do.

I did not use the trans brake and I didn't even load up the converter. I sat there at 900 RPM and hammered it down at the lite. It was fun for sure.

Your truck runs really good! I was impressed. Thanks for showing me the lay of the land. It was fun.

Jeeesh! Nomex Depends all around.

I would expect to see something more like a 1.30 60' (at least)
after you're more comfortable and use the brake.

Then it's time to turn the bottle on. Have you got the fever?

You're going to run out of drag strips to get thrown out of.

I think I'm still going to rip this car apart. It was fun but I like going to get coffee in it more. 1, 2...........
