Am I correct? '69 Barracuda does NOT have a windshield lock strip? Just glass and gasket?

Don't they just have a slot for the chrome trim?

67's are the only year that had the chrome plated plastic trim that popped into the gasket channel. 68 and 69 years had stainless trim on outer edges of the rubber gasket. 67 had a different gasket type that had to have the channel lock that stiffened up the gasket to hold the glass in.

thanks, guys. I just wasn't sure if I was short on parts and wanted to know, for certain, that I had all I would need before having a glass guy come to the house. I kept reading about "locking strips" and I was like, "huh?"

Got my PCV valve today. Choke thermostat comes tomorrow. Took the plunge and ordered an electronic distributor (the one that uses an external coil). Not sure what to expect there but if it delivers on half its advertised promises, should be a good thing.

I went with the Pertronix on mine.

I'll be interested to hear the results you get with your electronic distributor. Keep us posted!!

Absolutely! If its really exciting, I'll do another vid. Some things you can't fully capture with stills.

Well I have 1 and 4 sorted out.
1. looks like a water neck gasket for a later 360?
4. looks like choke thermostat gasket for an engine other than mine.
#2 possibly a water pump gasket for a big block? and I have no idea for #3 but it is looking more and more like I don't need these - just afraid to toss something out by mistake and end up needing it later.

#2 almost looks like the gasket for the top of the carb. Between the carb and the air cleaner. Not sure if it's wide enough though.

#1 - thermostat of some sort
#2- carb air filter gasket
#3- oil filter adapter?
#4- choke

#2 is for the 90 degree oil filter adapter, #3 is I believe a felt gasket that goes on the back side of older harmonic balancers / lower pulleys but I could be wrong.on that.

air filter gasket theory: it seems odd the kit would include one for the 4-bbl but not the 2bbl.
The #3 gasket is like pressed wool. Like it was meant to wick oil or something.
Not sure what choke #4 would be for but I have no need of it. They all came out of a generic engine rebuild gasket set so it's no surprise that there would be some non-applicable pieces. Thanks for all the replies!

The thick felt fits in the cup on the backside of the damper as shown on the right. It is there to pick up small amounts of oil getting past the seal? Image pirated from the net.

I know I've seen it before. d55dave could have #2.

So now I'm wondering if that wool o-ring is N/A to my engine or if it inadvertently got left out during the rebuild. Would I have to pull the harmonic balancer off to check for it?

At least I know my oil filter mount isn't leaking.

Thermostats swapped.

this photo shows where the original thermostat rod was brazed together at some point in its life.

...and something seems really off about this. The studs coming out of the intake manifold barely clear the carburetor flange with my thick gasket installed. Surely, this can't be right.

and this is a Fel-Pro 60188, by the way.
