Actually, DV's channel does have a lot of quality content on it, at least IMO. Sometimes I watch UT's channel too if I'm looking for what NOT to do.

I wouldn't call it panhandling there's always been a demand for content, instead of it all done and owned by networks the average person can do it now. Sure allows for a lot of junk but there's always been that anyways. Not like UTG wasn't around in print before this.

Greymouser7, I totally agree with this . Watch them over and over, and listen to him thinking out loud.

I'm no pro porter, but I think the only mistake he thought he made was getting involved in the project!
But seriously, I think he was referring to when he first did those heads years ago. I think as he went, he realized, those "mistakes" weren't really that big an issue as he was still removing and reshaping the port, chasing the flow. He just worked out where he only really needed to remove metal and applied that to the second port.
I'm not sure if he's going to use the floor wing or not, so I guess you could class that as a possible, mistake.

Actually, DV's channel does have a lot of quality content on it, at least IMO.

I like his books, I find his channel a little hard to watch it needs to be scripted.

Sometimes I watch UT's channel too if I'm looking for what NOT to do.

The days of Catalogues and Credits Cards will soon be ending with the current culmination of the end of the current monetary expansion.

We're going back to the ingenuity part very soon but most here wont understand that statement.

Personally, I don't think I'd play with anything from the deck down unless I really had to, apart from milling the deck . No rod work, no balancing, no fancy pistons. It would be nice to get some thinner rings in there but unless you have a trick up your sleeve, you won't be doing that with a factory piston.
Do the heads, do the manifold, size the cam and play with the carb. Dyno it, see what you get and then just go from there.

UTG said frame connectors were bad for Mopars, rips out spot welds. Think of the alternative and what happens without frame connectors. Stupid is as stupid does.

I‘ll take a shot at this. Bakerlite is a big boy so I don’t speak for him. If he has something to add he is perfectly capable of do it.

I never said Servedio was making mistakes. Since I’ve been porting heads since 1988 I knew exactly what he was getting into. A ton of work for sure.

IMO, he could have made more air (and more power) with way less work. That was my big criticism of the whole project. That and they are changing up quite a bit of stuff from what UT originally laid out.

If you get the chance, watch all of the videos Servedio put on YouTube. Don’t forget to at least LIKE his videos when you watch or better yet, subscribe and LIKE. It helps get his content out there.

What impressed me the most (as I’m a HUGE advocate of steeper than 45 degree valve seats for most everything) was that Servedio spent the time to grind a 50 degree valve job on there and test it. And it‘s harder for him because he is doing it with a stone.

Its much easier, quicker and simpler to use a seat and guide machine or a mill to used a forming tool to cut the seats, doing all the cuts at the same time.

It looks like he’s never done a 50 before, or maybe not many and his results mirror mine. And he kept with it, chipping away here and there until he got some impressive numbers out of that casting.

My problem was never with doing the project. It was with what I knew what was coming and that was mission creep. And the sheer amount of time that was put into those heads.

I‘ve BTDT so I knew what was coming. I know I wouldn’t want to pay for the bill to port those heads.

His results speak for themselves and Servedio did a damn nice job. If it doesn’t make the power they want it won’t be because of his heads if they use them.

We have already talked about (post 419) which mopar 2 barrel intake manifold they might be running.

What about which stock 2 barrel carb (with mods) they will choose to run.

I would choose to run the mopar carb on the left to make the power.

The mopar 318 stock 2 bbl carb on the right is an economy carb and it's going to take some mods to bring it up to task.

Big difference between these 2 carbs right here.

Let's see what they come up with to give the 302 headed 318 enough fuel to rise to the occasion.

That Holley 2210 on the left was updated with a 2245 model. There is a plug above the PV which, if removed, allows the spring tension to be adjusted. They rate at ~[email protected]"Hg delta, the throttle bores are 1.55" & venturis are 1.385", I was running this on the "Killer6".
Using a 360 2bbl intake would make it a bolt-on.

Which engines did the large bore bbd come on? Between the two carbs which do you think would have the potential to make the most power?
