Drag Week 2024 live feed..

There was even a Mopar A-Body that won the Eliminator bracket race. He said on FB when he got into Drag Week that he wouldn't even place in the class but was glad to be able to participate, and yet he won the elimination round. Glad for him.

I am pretty sure he's a member (@70DusterDev) here, too.

You really call that a Mopar. Anything with a Chevy engine in it isn’t a Mopar

Not going to say I wasn't disappointed when I saw the motor. But he put in the work and got the win so he deserves the congrats. Plus it was better than watching another Camaro do it.

Devon @70DusterDev has worked his *** off with that combo, and done really well with it this year. He was so excited to finish and be the winner in Street machine eliminator. And he did it with a stick shift. I say well done sir. It’s ok if some people don’t like the LS, but they shouldn’t discount the amount of work it still takes to make a win like that happen.

Sadly I snapped the tail shaft on the tranny so I am out. Anyone make anything stronger than stock?

and there it is…… again. I have two 904s. One is a stock component build with attention to detail. Only “jewelry” inside it is a Pro Trans Brake, A500 pump gear, and an A&A front clutch spring pack. All drums have oil relief hole drilled in them to relieve centrifugal weight. It was built to go behind our 400ish iron head 360. On a whim I put it behind our mid 700hp W8 mill. Now I know 3 guys personally that have snapped shafts, two at lesser power than me. Well the lil trans that could survived over 100 trans brake launches with 1.24-1.30 60 times. It worked flawlessly and still looked good inside at 80 passes. We carried parts to repair it onsite, but never had to utilize them…… and who really wants to pull a trans at the track and tear it down to the nuts anyways.

A little over a year ago we stepped up that program….. I acquired a new A&A input shaft that a racer had on the shelf. It was then I learned that you HAVE to accompany it to their output shaft, so don’t think you’re shopping for one or another. It was at this time I started consulting Chris Andrew’s (Andrews Racing Transmissions) and ended up sending some parts I’d acquired + a case and had him do a complete build. It’s not cheap…. far from it, but it affords me the confidence that when I go to the line I have GREATLY reduced the possibility of a parts failure. The pump body and case are stock, but everything else is aftermarket.

That's great news. Always good to see a Mopar in the winner's circle! Congrats @70DusterDev

A little bit of old mopar sheetmetal, nothing mopar about the drivetrain whatsoever. But still better looking than the ocean of camaros, tri-5s and G bodys.

Seems to be a lot of A bodies in it this year. Really digging the live feed.
There were a lot of Mopars which is awesome to see.
Thinking about running it next year myself
You should. Any drag n drive really. They are all so much fun!
Man I wish there was access to more info on the cars running.

The red F100 of Jeff Watt sounds like it has a Nascar motor in it or something but I can't find any info.

The (barnfind) blue '67 Mustang coupe of Chad Garoutte running 9's, curious what he has for a power plant.

Saw on FB last night that Trunkett is out, disappointing as he was 2nd in class.

The '70 Super Bee of Paul English that was leading Street Machine Eliminator with a 10.024 didn't show yesterday, wonder what happened.
The 67 Mustang has a 400” windsor with a 300 plate system. They are new to the nitrous but it went well every day for them. Rick dropped a valve after a defective (brand new) retainer/ keeper let go of the valve. We the gorgeous B5 super bee at a gas station and that was the last we saw of it.
Glad to see the 4 cylinder Mustang back, seems like he was missing last year.

Wonder what happened to the Nascar motored Dart from last year.

What happened to member Cody Walker (@Walker434)? He has been MIA since July of last year and (I think) ran a Hellcat last year instead of his Dart.
Cody went to the Holley Moparty.

I run a Protrans 727 in my Dart and its flawless. I also run a 904 from them in my Duster. It runs low 9’s and we get hundreds of passes out of it no problem.
Don't remember that story. DF said this year no one had ever been booted so not sure.

My memory says he lost a lifter and cam after day 3, but I don't have a great memory so who knows.
He ate a lobe on the tool steel cam and destroyed a lifter. We tried to help him but my lifters wouldn’t fit his bushings (different size lifter) that was the drive on day 3.
whats that duster have in it? saw the car in person at sick week earlier this year.. car is sweet. so much plumbing under there though i couldn't tell what motor was in it..
Its a 436” small block ritter block with brett miller prepped Edelbrock Victor castings. Twin turbo. It really heavy. Like 3700 pounds.
The motor developed a horrific sound after racing on day 3. We were about 10 miles out from US131 when the sound popped up. Worst sound I have ever heard. Oil and filter are clean. Tore the intake and valve covers off and found nothing wrong. It was 8pm and we still had like 250 miles to go so I gave up. I think it broke a piston or pin and the piston is slapping the bottom of the head.
