Great build! I just got a '72 Duster and a low compression forged piston 383. It makes sense to add boost so I started looking at other builds.

I skimmed the 13 pages of this topic but didn't see this question.

How difficult was it to install the headers?

Did you have to modify the headers to fit?

It looks like these have no trouble fitting under the hood.

And are these the headers you got?

Thanks in advance
Save yourself the trouble and make, (or have someone make) your headers. The end result will be worth it.

Ive built 3 sets of headers in my life and after every one said to myself, “I’m never doing that again”. I’m a slow learner. This last set I did, I just reflanged a small block Chevy set with W2 flanges and added some length to the primary tube at the head. By far the easiest way I’ve done it. These were stainless flowtechs.

Let’s see. Time to update this. The “low buck, quick 440 build” has been anything but quick. I could go on for awhile about speed bumps along the ways but I digress.

As always, @TT5.9mag takes time out of his life to help me. I’m not an engine builder, I put boost to stock junk. Mike has been an absolute life saver along this journey and it wouldn’t be where it is without him. He’s a modest feller but definitely the hero here.

This thing has to be in and running the first weekend of April. Fingers crossed but I think I’ll just make it.

lookin' sexy there man!

with turbo mike twisting arms i have the utmost confidence that you'll make the deadline.

if you get jammed up and need another set of paws out there to help push ya across the finish line don't hesitate to give a ring on the tech line.

I appreciate that kind sir. Goal is hopefully a complete short block this weekend, then I’ll start pulling the heads from the hurt motor in preparation for this one. Should be down hill from there.

Coming along nicely, playing with boost theres always bumps lol I know I have had alot and still running into some. Keep at it. One of these days maybe next time i come down to visit my in laws there in Riverside just down Van Buren from you I'll have to bring my car down and swing by and see this beast up close.

You’re doing great and I haven’t done hardly anything except steal your measuring tools. How many engines do you have to build before you’re an engine builder?
