Thanks Memi, Gonna git on it today, while the humidity and heat are lower.

Mitch, you are doing a fine job. Hats off sir.

The red stripe looks great and makes me thirsty for one. :)

Looking forward to seeing it finished.

Been here numerous times but appears that I've never checked in...
The bay does look great. Too bad you HATE BODYWORK ( LOL).. It looks like you are pretty good at it. Whats the latest timeline update? Anything in the bay yet?

Nothing in there yet, but it is ready. Trying to get through some other small projects around the property, and the on to the GTS. Have all I need to make it driveable.!!

Made some headway today on the GTS. Got the K frame in the other day and spent some time today on the suspension. New PST 1.03 torsion bars and all new bushings and ball joints. This car is being switched over to 73 and up disc brakes. I'm not sure and I guess I'll have to use the search function, as I mounted the spindles with the calipers rearward. I do believe I've seen where they might need to switch sides for front mount. Easy enough if that's the case. Going away for a couple a weeks tomorrow. I'll hit it hard when I get back. Want have it under it's own power by the end of Oct. Drive train is rebuilt and ready !!

I cant wait to see the engine in there the contrast of the blue 383 and green engine bay will look great. I know of a 383 GTS sitting in a field And this thread inspires me to try and get it.

Slow , but steady progress. Fitting out the Engine bay. Getting ready for drive train. Had to use Stock Moog Strut Rod bushings as the Poly ones were too thick and or wrong, keeping LCA,s from seating properly. Sprayed all the brake lines and steering parts with clear coat to keep them new looking. Installed rebuilt (by me) steering gear. Has PST 1.03 T bars.

Quick update. I finally got the torsion bar boots and clips so I could tighten up the front end. I bought poly strut rod bushings also, but didn't like the way that they kept the lower control arm shafts from seating all the way. I think they were to stiff and too thick. I replaced them with regular Moog's. Getting the Poly frame bushings on the front sway bar was another issue. Had to drill relief holes in the old bushings and pry them out. That's when the trouble started. Could not find a way to get the new stiff poly bushings into the welded brackets after I was able to get them over the large ends of the bar. Finally I gave up trying different methods and cut the factory welds. Then assembled them and pressed the brackets back to closed and re welded them. Not sure how everyone else does them, but I gave up trying to fab tools and pressing into place.

I like them valve covers.

Me Too !!Don't make them any more as you know. Only thing is, they don't have the provisions for the wire looms or heater hoses.I do have the original chrome ones, but there pretty crusty. Haven't even tried to clean em up . I'll make do . LOL

Getting closer now. Got the original engine harness in place. Fitted the engine out with a few parts that are easier to get to now. Re blasted the Factory Exhaust manifolds, and powder coated them. I had this Hi Temp 1000 deg powder that I wanted to try. Anxious to see how it holds up on the engine. Thinking, next week, I'll roll the engine and the car down to the lower bay and git r done.
