Has anyone ever seen a Lada in the USA?

That's a smoking deal for that..... i wonder if a 318 would fit in there....

Really though, that's not a bad price for a decent core to work with.
Probably get a great deal on one from Pripyat. You know as long as you don't mind if it glows or something. Of course shipping would be a "bear." Ba-dump bump.

That is the real Lada, they rust but the drivetrain is like an AK47 - almost indestructible. During my deployment to the Republic of Georgia, I almost bought one. There was not much left from the chassis, but it still drove EVERYWHERE:

Huh? Since when did Quebec stop using salt on the roads?

This story must be fake news:
Jonathan Kay: Why is Montreal's Champlain Bridge, built within living memory, already on its last legs? | National Post

Add to that the acid rain which is brutal in Ontario and Quebec near the US border, and not many cars last beyond 10 or 15 years without a lot of effort and care.
I stand corrected, every time I am in Qc in the winter, it is so cold, they don’t salt, because it won’t work at -40

A friend of mine and his wife had one in the mid 80s.
It turned out to be a real pile of crap that you couldn't get parts for.
They dumped it on a poor soul and it ended up being scrapped about a year later.
I personally wouldn't buy one.

No matter how ugly the car or how much of a lemon it was, there are cult followings for every one. The allure of a project for some folks or having something that is quite uncommon trumps the poor financial decision it would be.

Went to buy a compressor off Kijiji (Canadian Craigslist) a couple of years ago and the guy had this Lada that was in awesome condition.

He was blown away that I knew what it was. I told him I hadn’t seen one in close to 30 years!

He said he bought it from the Toronto Classic Car Auction.

That is sure a beauty

Okay, I am a little confused (more or less the usual state), but if it is a four door, does make it a 132, and does it have a 2.4 Dino engine in it? If it does, jump on it!

For not being an A body Mopar this thread is getting a lot of traction!!!!!!

Ooops...did I just make it longer???:lol::lol::lol:

Buddy of mine has 3, days package deal for 15 large buys all three. Ones a definite parts car with over 40k on the clock, the others are okayish with roughly 30k on each

Now, if you get your hands on a Fiat 132, with the 2.4 liter V6 , I have seen one states side, but co-worker had one when he lived in Poland, he told me it flew. But doesn’t everyone?

Correct, always wanted. Citroen DS, but someone always beat me to it, 15 years, quite happy with my Duster. Didn’t need to get a grey suit and a fedora.
back in the early 80s my high school friend Kirk and I worked at the local Ford dealer. They also sold Yugos. We had one with a bad engine. We were trying to get it from Ford for a song, because the customer made Ford buy it back through arbitration. We were going to put a 5.0 and a T5 in it. But alas, it was not to be. They wouldn't sell it to us. lol
Good thing, you are still alive
