hah, you think that was fun, Fred?

remember that siding i did yesterday?
well, it seems i inadvertently whacked myself on my thumb real good
you know the deal, buncha blood under the nail, but no place to go and the nail bed was pretty swollen

it was hurting pretty bad last night, but when i woke up this morning it was allright, as long as i didnt bump it

then i stopped by church to remove a black water tank from the coachbus (who knows why)
there is a vent hose on there, so i grabbed a long flathead screwdriver and tried to pry it off
needless, to say, the screw driver slipped and i slammed my hand down on the tank, right on the thumb
the nail bed that was swollen allready split open and all of a sudden it didnt throb so much...now that the blood could get out

yeah, that was fun
OUCH !!! I here ya buddy.
Didn't smash any fingers or toes today so I guess I had a good day.

I think I remember my dad relieving the pressure under his fingernail by burning a hole through it with a hot paperclip. Not sure if it worked. I've torn 2 fingernails completely off and have on that wont stop splitting catch part of that once in a while, Just the other day I chucked up a vice-grip in a vise and clamped the small part of that split nail in the vise grip and yanked it out by the root. Done that a half a dozen times I suppose.

Damn that hurts all the way over here.

Took a little liquid courage. LOL Keeping bag balm on it this time see if it will quit splitting.
Yea liquid make me feel better as well. Gonna do what Fog is doing and plant my rear end in a recliner the rest of the night. Cheers buddy....

when we came back from vacation, the wife slammed the van door on her thumb
of course we were on our way to the airport so we had no access to flames or paperclips

we iced her thumb but it turned blue pretty quick by the time we made it back to MI we went straight from the airport to her office where she had something, i dont know what its called, but it looks like a soldering iron on steroids

the tip heats up to cherry red in seconds

i then got to pop a hole in her nail and let me tell ya, that was like striking oil, it shot out and you could almost see her thumb deflate back to regular size

i was pretty lucky my nail was no where near as bad

Omg ouch!

Bumper sticker I saw on the back of a pickup on my way home from work tonight:

Your proctologist called
HE FOUND YOUR HEAD

I laughed out loud when I read that.

Yesterday was another sunny mild day, high of 48*F, then a heavy fog rolled in late afternoon and the temperature dropped like a rock. Got a little snow overnight, made another icy mess this morning, fog still hanging around today, cold and damp, only got to about 20*F today. Went on a road trip west about 100 miles, sunny and warm there, still chilly here at home.

Well nothing in the weather changed here , rained all day ! 6deg c .

Doing a turbo r&r on an 07 madza cx7 omg what a p.o.s. Almost as bad as rear brakes on the 1988 empresses motor home in the parking lot in the rain  good times .
